Jett Johnson, a lifelong artist, has been drawing since the age of 2. His interest in drawing realistic portraits and figure drawings sprung at an early age when Jett was constantly searching out facial expressions and body language from his peers and family. Over his childhood years, Jett would draw here and there for joy and occasionally taking classes in school. After graduating high school in 1999, he received an Assoc of Electronics, which eventually led him to his “dream job” with the Intel Corporation in Portland, OR in 2005. Jett’s life choices led to trouble with the law which led to termination from Intel in 2007. The resulting depression forced Jett to immerse himself back into creating art. ​In 2008, Jett returned to his hometown of Hot Springs, AR feeling defeated, depressed and at a rock bottom. He took on server and bartender jobs to get by but was rarely satisfied. Fast forward to 2015 and an influential person in his life helped him make the decision to take the leap and become a full time artist or he would never be happy. Currently Jett focuses on creating art to show appreciation for anyone that has passion for what they do – mainly musicians, writers, and other artists. The more that subject’s love and passion for their art shows, the more drive and passion Jett has while painting them. The more he’s affected by their existence, the more he wants to show appreciation the way he learned in his early formative years.
