Unique jewelry made to last

I first tried making jewelry in high school, where I took lost wax casting. Many years later, I had the good fortune to apprentice with a goldsmith in Vancouver, Canada. Destiny brought me back to California, where I had grown up. Here, in California, I began creating my line of jewelry.

There is something very satisfying about working with metals, the combination of strength and malleability, makes for a medium of endless possibilities. Wax carving was my first love, the detail that can be attained fired my imagination. Speaking of fire, I love that aspect of the craft too, melting metal, or just heating it to solder or anneal. All still gratifying activities even after all this time.

For many years I seemed to be obsessed with rings, they were all I wanted to make. Recently my passion has switched to pendants. Enameling is another new interest. I love the idea of having a palette of color to combine with metal.

Everything in my etsy shop is made entirely by me, from concept to final polish. The gemstones I use are sourced from non-conflict areas. My suppliers of silver and gold fabricate their casting grain and sheet using recycled metals.

I recently moved my studio to Santa Barbara, California, where the ocean meets the desert. The abundant light and astonishing natural beauty inspire my creative energy. Though the new shop is a work in progress, I can now have everything permanently set up, making for a much more effective work flow.
