MADE BY MAGGIE was established in 2009, and the headquarters are in my very own jewelry studio in my home in Manchester, MO. I am a self taught jewelry designer with a strong focus on using lightweight materials. This allows my designs to make a BIG statement and to also be extremely comfortable! Currently, I am obsessed with all things gemstone, leather, cork, wood, macrame, and mixed metal. You will find a lot of these TRENDS in my designs, as well as classic, dainty pieces in sterling silver, 14k gold fill and rose gold.

Here is further description of the high quality elements I use in my jewelry design:
Sterling Silver: It's a mixture of pure silver and another metal, usually copper. The resulting alloy gives strength to the silver. The standard is at least 92.5% silver, hence, the .925 stamp you see on some sterling silver items.
Gold-filled: Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal such as brass. High quality gold-filled pieces have the look, luster and beauty of 14 karat (58%) gold, at a much lower cost! It is NOT gold plated and will not rub off over time. With reasonable care of gold filled jewelry, it will not peel or flake, and should last as long as solid 14k gold jewelry. It is safe for most people with sensitive skin.
Vermeil (Pronounced: Vermay) is sterling silver that has been gold-plated. Most of the vermeil I use is plated with 24K gold. This is a good combination for those with allergy to normal, plated findings. The difference between vermeil, and gold-filled, is in the thickness of the gold and the base metal used. In vermeil, the base is sterling silver. The standard is for the gold plating to be much thicker than ordinary plating.

Care instructions
Made by Maggie uses high quality materials such as sterling silver and 14K gold fill. Metal can tarnish over time and a simple polishing cloth will shine your jewelry back up to sparkly new.
It is NOT recommended to get leather and cork products wet. In fact, some of my dyed cork bracelets may bleed if they get wet. Avoid water and sweat while wearing these bracelets. I am not responsible for products damaged by getting them Wet or sweating with them on.
I've lost ONE earring. Can I order a replacement?
Sometimes. Depending on the earring. Please message me to find out... And please remember that when jewelry is handcrafted with love, each pair may be slightly different, however, each pair is matched to my best ability. This can make things a bit challenging for me to create you a new match when you have one earrings and i'm trying to make another to match it. Ya feel me?
PS. DON'T be a rebel. Wear the plastic backs that I provide with each pair. My earrings are really lightweight and it's easy for one to fall out without you even noticing.

What is 14k Gold Fill?
14K gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating as gold filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors as plated metal can. As a matter of fact, anyone who can wear gold can wear gold filled without worries of any allergic reaction to the jewelry. Gold filled jewelry is a wonderful economical alternative to solid gold.
