Brandy did a custom copper counter for me. She offered helpful advice on its design, took great care with the piece, and it got here even earlier than requested. I love it and have carried it every day since. Thank you!

About

Out of the museum case and into your hands.

Sinclair Jewelry was created out of a love of history and a desire to bring the treasures of the past into modern life. We combine an ancient aesthetic with today's technology to make unique and wearable jewels suitable for all occasions. More than simply replicas, every piece of Sinclair Jewelry has been constructed with the utmost care and attention to detail, often featuring handmade chains and custom-cut gems.

Brandy Sinclair is the designer and metalsmith behind Sinclair Jewelry. She began metalworking at a young age, honing her skills in one grandfather’s workshop, and at her other grandfather’s farm. Being of Welsh, Seneca, Cherokee and Scottish heritage, her love of history was sparked early by numerous family legends and cultural lore. Luckily, Brandy grew up just down the street from her hometown library and was able to spend many cozy hours curled up by the fireplace or hidden deep in the archive stacks. Now, as a wife and mom, she’s thrilled that she can combine her passion with her skill to bring the artifacts of the past into modern day.

Brian Hagan is not only Brandy’s other half, but a vital resource for Sinclair Jewelry. As a gemologist and lapidary, it’s his research and stonecutting talents that allow many of her designs to come to life. Brian’s background in art and technology gives him a unique perspective on gemstones, which lets him balance the physical properties of a stone with beauty in a way that makes for long-lasting, gorgeous jewelry. He loves history as much as Brandy, and often directly aids in the design process either stylistically, or through his stonework.

Hello and Welcome! ^_^

I'm Brandy, a jewelry artist and metalsmith with a special love for Laboradite, Moonstone, and pretty much anything with a bit of fire or color change to it. Also stones that are blue. My partner-in-shine is my husband Brian, a professional gemologist who does my stone buying, and who has an awesome eye for color.

My main inspiration comes from history, especially Rome. I like to take ancient jewelry designs and update them for modern styles. It makes me feel connected to those artists of old when I hold a piece in my hand that's an evolution of something that hasn't been worn for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. My favorite compliment is when someone says my work looks like it belongs in a museum. ^_^

Seriously, if I had a time machine I'd travel back in time and take classes from those old masters to learn how they did things. I'm sure we've lost some techniques in the ensuing millenia.

Added Gemology Bonus: Brian checks the authenticity of all of my stones. Any CZs or manmade gems are duly noted, as are all treatments to natural gems. I try to avoid gemstone "Trade Names" whenever possible. This means I know what I'm using, and you know what you're getting. Honesty really is the best policy.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
If you order something and aren't happy with it, just return it within 7 days of receiving it and I'll be glad to refund your payment. The cost of shipping the item back will be up to you, though.

If an item is sent but doesn't get to you, let me know so I can contact the Post Office. If you are at all concerned about receiving your order please let me know and I can adjust the shipping accordingly by adding delivery confirmation, insurance, etc.
Payment
I accept PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Etsy Gift Cards, money orders and personal checks. Money orders and checks will take a bit longer as I have to wait for checks to clear and for the mail to run, but once I get your payment I will let you know and then I'll ship your order out.

If you buy an item here on Etsy but don't actually pay for it I wait three days before I send out a reminder. Sometimes people forget to hit the pay button, or they only pay for part of an order and forget to pay for the other half; hence the reminder. It's okay, it happens.

Cancelled orders will be charged Etsy, relisting, and PayPal fees, where applicable. This is so I can put the item back up on Etsy and get the money back that Etsy and PayPal charges on each sale. They charge me regardless of whether or not the sale was actually made, so please be careful and double-check before you hit the "Buy" button.
Shipping
I use the good old-fashioned United States Postal Service. I normally ship via First Class Parcel post with PayPal shipping, but if you need something in a hurry, want it insured, or would rather use a different shipper, send me a note and I'll get it worked out for you.

If an item is very large, fragile, or very expensive I ship it with special packaging, insurance and/or delivery confirmation, and the shipping price will reflect those services. The item description will have the details, so make sure to read the whole thing!

I usually ship items inside a padded envelope, wrapped in tissue and in individual bags or boxes. Check the item descriptions to see - I usually show the packaging.

I do ship internationally, but I won't mark things as "gift" because that's dishonest, not to mention illegal. I'm specifying this because I've had people actually ask. :( Not cool.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders:
I do accept commissions; simply contact me via Convo or Email to make arrangements and get a quote. Most items require a 50% downpayment before I can get started, but I may need a higher percentage. Typically this is if the work calls for certain kinds of stones or fantasy cuts, as these are generally more expensive and can be hard to find.

If what you want is beyond my skill to create, I can refer you to other jewelers who can make it happen. I want you to be happy, and my goal is for you to end up with a piece of jewelry that you'll cherish.

Wholesale:
Wholesale orders range between a minimum of thirty to ten pieces. Please Convo or Email me for details, as certain items can be difficult to replicate due to the availability of certain gems or the intrinsic qualities of the stones.
