Biographic Statement
Lisa B. Corfman (Morah Bayla), nacida y criada en el área de Boston, es una artista, maestra y persona espiritual que trabaja con el origami (el arte de doblar papel) sirviendo como conexión entre múltiples medios.
En cuanto a su formación académica, Morah Bayla obtuvo su Licenciatura en Bellas Artes en 2004, su formación profesional en marketing artístico en 2005, su certificado de Auxiliar de Enfermería en 2006, su certificado avanzado de marketing en 2014 y su certificado de maestra de preescolar en 2024.
Para obtener su licenciatura en Bellas Artes, cursó asignaturas que abarcaron desde artes plásticas hasta educación, pasando por diseño gráfico y arteterapia. Bajo la tutela de la profesora Barbara Burgess-Maier, Morah Bayla comenzó a crear su serie de dibujos a carboncillo con temática de origami. Posteriormente, bajo la tutela del profesor Dan Sklar, se convirtió en poeta y artista. Esta forma de arte la cautivó, y hoy en día todas sus creaciones artísticas giran en torno al origami, tanto a nivel creativo como espiritual.
Su certificado de 2014 fortaleció sus habilidades empresariales, y luego Morah Bayla desarrolló y construyó sus tres sitios web para Origami Place (OrigamiPlace.com), Origami Museum (OrigamiMuseum.org) y Jewish Hope (JewishHope.org) con su página web "meta" en KindlingCreativity.org.
En Origami Place, Morah Bayla ofrece encargos, formación y exposiciones de arte, además de productos de su galería y dos tiendas online. Born and raised in the Boston area, Lisa B. Corfman (Morah Bayla) is an artist, teacher, and spiritual individual who works with origami (paperfolding art) serving as the connection between multiple mediums.
Education-wise, Morah Bayla obtained her BFA in 2004, Vocational Art Marketing training in 2005, CNA Certificate in 2006, Advanced Marketing Certificate in 2014, and Preschool Teacher Certificate in 2024.
In obtaining her BFA, courses ranged from studio arts to education, and graphic design to art therapy. With study under Professor Barbara Burgess-Maier, Morah Bayla began making her charcoal drawings series with an origami subject matter. Morah Bayla became a poet, art subject, under Professor Dan Sklar. The art form grew on her, and today all of Morah Bayla’s art forms revolve around origami, creatively and spiritually.
Her 2014 certificate strengthened her business skills, and then Morah Bayla developed and built her three websites for Origami Place (https://OrigamiPlace.com), Origami Museum (https://OrigamiMuseum.org), and Jewish Hope (https://JewishHope.org) with her the “meta” webpage at https://KindlingCreativity.org.
Morah Bayla’s Origami Place features options for commissions, education, and showcased art, as well as her art gallery products and two online shops. At Origami Place, Morah Bayla makes, sells, teaches, and showcases origami arts embracing paper’s wonders, striving to bring the excitement of origami to all, and for everyone to find ways to grow, achieve and enjoy origami goods and services.
