Jill Makes

Jill Makes is a handcrafted jewelry and accessory company run by designer, Jill Foreman. Jill earned a BA in Graphic Design and worked as a graphic designer and product designer for 8 years before opening Jill Makes in 2013. Her focus on designing pieces with a modern, artful aesthetic has inspired a unique, colorful jewelry and accessories line. All of our items are created in Lafayette, Louisiana with use of various materials including clay, brass, wood, and acrylic. Our pieces are assembled and painted by hand with many of our pieces offering personalization.

Jill is also a wife and mom to two sweet boys - Bennett & Qunicy. She Ioves making things by hand, sunflower seeds and can't pass up a good vintage sports jacket.

How long until my order is shipped?

Because items are handmade and often personalized, processing time varies by item. See an individual item's listing for its processing time.

What is the transit time for an order once it is shipped?

DOMESTIC
USPS - First Class Mail: 2-5 business days
USPS - Priority Mail: 2-3 business days

INTERNATIONAL
USPS - First Class International: 1-6 weeks
USPS - Priority Mail International: 6-10 business days

First Class Intl. comes with a tracking number. Once the package leaves the country, tracking will show the order standing still at a major US Port, but that does not mean it is stuck! In this case, it’s moving overseas and not updating the US system until delivery. Keep in mind that USPS First Class International shipping will only update where the package is within the US - once it ships overseas, we are not able to provide any additional insight on the order's whereabouts other than what the tracking shows. (We see what you see!)

My order is being sent as a gift; will a receipt be sent with my order?

We do not send a physical receipt with any order. An electronic receipt will be emailed to you upon purchase.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Our packaging is important to us, and all orders are packaged with Jill Makes branding and style.

However, upgraded gift wrapping is available for purchase for those who want their order spruced up with a handpainted wooden tag with uplifting quote options.

Care instructions

We apply a protective quote on raw brass components; however, it will antique over time. Brass can be cleaned with soap and water or brass cleaner.

Items should not be worn while swimming, showering, slip 'n sliding, skiing, horse racing... etc.

Custom and personalized orders

Many items are customizable. Please leave clear instructions in the notes section of your order. Orders with incomplete information may be cancelled.

Lost / Stolen Packages

PLEASE NOTE: We are not liable for lost or stolen packages-domestic or international. When selecting your shipping method at checkout, consider purchasing a shipping option that includes insurance (like Priority Express).

If your package has not arrived, please reach out to your local post office / shipping facility with your tracking number. They will be able to provide additional insight that we are not able to see on our end. (Again, we see what you see!) If you selected an insured shipping method at checkout, your next step is to open a case with your local post office to be reimbursed for any lost / stolen packages.

Shipped to the Incorrect Address

Please note that Jill Makes will not be held responsible for an incorrect address provided by the customer at checkout. We are able to accommodate corrections if they are caught by the customer before the order ships.

If your item is shipped to the wrong address, we find that these packages are often returned to sender. If this is the case with your order, we will contact you once the item gets returned to us. You will then be held responsible for the cost of shipping the item to the correct address. (Typically $3-5 for domestic shipments, and prices vary for international shipping.)

I've sent a message and I haven't heard back. What do I do?

We answer messages in the order that they were received, so please be patient with us! When another message is sent regarding the same order, it moves your inquiry to the back of the line, as the system believes your inquiry is new.

We are experiencing a higher volume of messages than usual due to the delays from COVID-19, and we're doing our best to get back to everyone in a timely manner.

Our customer service team is in Monday-Friday. If you've reached out to us on the weekend, we'll do our best to get back to you during the next 1-2 business days.
