About

JoAnne is a painter and Murray is a Photographer. They enjoy collaborating together in this Shop.

JoAnne treated herself to her first art class at the Art Students League in New York in January of 2003. Additional Classes followed at the Pastel Society of America, also in New York. In the Winter of 2009, she took a 15-week intensive art course in oil painting and life drawing with Tony Ryder in Santa Fe. She brings a 30 year career as Artistic Director and Choreographer of a modern dance company to her work in the visual arts. She strives to capture her love of movement in her visual arts.

Her pastels have been exhibited in juried shows in Steamboat Springs, Tubac Center for the Arts, at the Oregon Society for Pastels, Kitchen Goddess Exhibition of the Colorado Chapter of Women's Caucus for art, on Cape Cod and in the Maryland Pastel Society Show. In 2013 she was pleased to be selected to create a floral painting for "Viva Flora" a joint partnership of the Santa Fe Botanical Garden and City of Santa Fe Arts Commission Community Gallery.

Murray's father, an inveterate photo chronicler, turned over his Kodak Brownie 620 to Murray when he was seven. Over time, the move from black and white to stable color, Murray has progressed through a series of every improving cameras arriving at the digital age over ten years ago. Murray strives to capture the moment of awe whether in a National Park or his own backyard. He is most inspired by nature focusing on those elements that capture the essence of a place.

They began showing their work together creating limited editions by the process of dye sublimation on ceramic tiles in 2012. They continue to explore new product development and ways to use their images through this process. They have traveled to arts and crafts fairs in New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. JoAnne and Murray are pleased to now have an Etsy Shop and be a part of the Etsy Community.
