About

Beautiful handmade quilts, bags and homeware

Beautiful handmade patchwork quilts, homewares and accessories from my farmhouse high in the hills of Northumberland.

I have been making quilts for many years and love the whole process. I enjoy seeing something come to life that was once just an idea in my head. My quilts are designed to be used, to wrap a loved one up in while watching telly or reading a book, to cover a bed to give extra warmth or as a play mat for a baby or child. They also make fabulous design statements, can add a splash of colour where needed, or can add texture too. They also make amazing dens!

When I'm not making quilts I love to make bags, purses and other bits and bobs for the home. I also crochet and enjoy embroidery too, I think I just like making pretty things!

I live on a hill farm in beautiful Northumberland, the county is known as England's best kept secret. The farm has been in my husbands family for many generations, and we have raised our three children happily here. I have always worked away from the farm too until a shoulder injury meant that I was no longer able. That is when Jo Sews began, sewing and making makes me happy!

Please come and see me over at www.fb.com/JoSewsHandmade or www.instagram.com/josewshandmade/ for more pictures and updates about what I'm making and life on our hill farm.
