Announcement   Welcome to PoP Garden NYC, my small store run out of my even smaller apartment in NYC. As you can see from my shop I grow in soil, in air and hydroponically. Plants and my passion for yarn and knitting pretty much sums me up. Well...sort of.

All of my plants are well cared for. I love them so much I keep them hanging on my walls! I'm happy to do custom orders for any occasion. My pricing isn't based on the size of the piece but on the species and number of plants.

Check out my Etsy Craft Night video! http://bit.ly/uWsdJl where I shared how to make a simple, simple hydroponic planter out of recycled materials.

Thanks for stopping by!

It beautiful and so easy to maintain. It brings a little of nature indoors. I plan to buy more as the occasions to treat my friends arise.

These are beautiful, well-cared for air plants and the skull is awesome. Love the dry brushed silver over the red paint. The mount is simple to hang. Joanna was friendly and quick to answer my questions!

About

How PoP Gardens Popped Up

I've been a teacher in some way shape or form since I was a kid. I've worked as a camp counselor, swim instructor, classroom teacher and now as an Educational Consultant. I've always loved gardening. When I had my own classroom I had plants wherever I had space and where the kids wouldn't knock them over.

I discovered air plants awhile back and love them for their beauty and simplicity. The fact that they are super easy to grow and care for makes me love them all the more. I'm very much into creating one of a kind mounts for my little guys, hence all the ones you see in my shop.

On to my hydroponic kits...I got interested in hydroponics several years back when I read about the WindowFarms project. After building one I thought how cool it would be to do a smaller hydroponic project in classrooms. It was about that time I started taking botany classes at the New York Botanical Garden. I figured I needed to know a little more about the science of plants before I could teach it. So many people were asking me if I could get them materials to make their own planters in the classroom that I figured I'd open an Etsy shop to sell introductory kits.

Between teaching, gardening, knitting and life things are pretty crazy much of the time. Luckily there are plants to get me through.

I'm a former elementary school teacher turned Educational Consultant. I work mostly with museums and as a curricula writer. When I'm not in the classroom or in front of my computer I'm likely knitting, running or, of course, gardening.

Payment
Paypal, credit cards and Etsy gift cards.
Shipping
If a piece is ready to ship my turnaround time is 1-3 days. Made to order items take longer as...they are are made to order. :-)

I want to get my air plants to their new homes as quickly as possible. I use 2-day Priority Mail. I am happy to expedite your purchase but there will be an increase in the cost of shipping.

When possible I ship items in recycled cardboard boxes which means there might be some ugly tape covering the box. No matter there will be prettiness and coolness inside.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you're not happy for any reason, please contact me so I can fix the problem. Although I'll be sad if you cancel your order, you'll receive a full refund providing you cancel within 24 hours of your initial order for "Ready to Ship" pieces. If you've ordered a custom piece a full refund will be given if you cancel within 3 days of your initial order. I'm sorry but I cannot give refunds past these cancelation deadlines.

All my plants that ship are young and healthy. I am constantly rotating them so I can ship out the best ones with your piece. Please note that I'm not responsible for plants that suffer an untimely demise due to lack of care or damage during shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
I'm happy to answer any questions I can about air plants, hydroponics and gardening--especially apartment gardening!
