About Jogueludu

Sales 95
On Etsy since 2020

The value and value of an object does not lie in the cost of its matter but in the energy that it releases or manages to transmit.

Jogueludu was born from the union of the words in Sardinian language jogu -de -ludu or "Mud Game", already because it all starts from a Japanese game called hikaru dorodango, an ancient art that is also a game and is taught to children in schools in the distant country of the Rising Sun.
Hikaru dorodango which translated means "bright mud dumpling" this creative technique aims at the creation of raw earth spheres then made as regular and brilliant as possible thanks to a slow and careful process of processing, manipulation, controlled drying and finally manual polishing, up to obtain smooth and shiny compact spheres that despite the simplicity and humility of its material "the earth" is well suited to show off its harmony and beauty in any home and in any living room.

Let in the mud-covered dog. You can wash the dog and you can wash the mud.
But those who love neither the dog nor the mud... those no, you can not wash ...
(Jacques Prévert)

Frequently asked questions

Dorodango surface defects

The Dorodango is a handmade object in raw earth, entirely handmade, for its processing no type of power tool is used, even the sanding and polishing is done by hand so you can find some small imperfections such as surface scratches, localized micro porosity, or small more opaque areas. On some works the cracks or splits are wanted, and are the result of the applied processing technique.

Maintenance

Raw earth has the characteristic of interacting with the environment by absorbing the humidity of the air and then releasing it slowly, this exchange mechanism could lead to a slight opacification of the sphere, in which case it is sufficient to proceed with manual polishing by rubbing energetically with a dry cotton cloth. To limit this phenomenon, if desired, it is possible to apply a light layer of colorless natural wax on the surface.

Packaging and gift box

Choosing the gift box the ball will be shipped inside the hexagonal box (see photo) which in turn is arranged and carefully packed inside a box for shipping, there will also be the purchase receipt without the amount paid.
