En 1973 abrí el estudio con el concepto de que la escultura no necesariamente tiene que ser fundida en bronce o tallada en mármol y, por lo tanto, solo asequible para los ricos. Los materiales alternativos y las últimas técnicas de moldeo deberían ser capaces de poner la escultura al alcance de casi todo el mundo.
Durante las últimas 4 décadas he podido poner en práctica esta idea y he tenido la satisfacción y el placer de ver mi trabajo encontrar su camino en los hogares de literalmente millones de personas.
A medida que continúo este concepto en una quinta década, Internet proporciona un medio para llevar esta idea un paso más allá al conectarme directamente con una miríada de personas, algunas de las cuales ya están familiarizadas con mi trabajo, coleccionistas tal vez, otros para quienes es nuevo.
Las otras fuerzas detrás de mi trabajo han sido mi amor por el mundo natural y en particular las criaturas salvajes que lo habitan y mi deseo de verlos protegidos. Siempre he sentido que el uso más útil de mis habilidades es crear interpretaciones hermosas y conmovedoras de estas criaturas que las personas podrían traer a sus hogares y sus vidas o regalar a otros cuya empatía por estas criaturas podría nutrirse de su proximidad.
A medida que me dirijo a mis años "maduros", me motiva un sentido de urgencia para esculpir tantas como sea posible de las criaturas hermosas o fascinantes o en peligro de extinción que he omitido hasta ahora y también para reesculpir muchas de las piezas que creé hace décadas cuando recién estaba comenzando como escultor.

Back in 1973 I opened the Studio with the concept that sculpture need not necessarily be cast in bronze or carved out of marble and thus only affordable by the wealthy. Alternative materials and the very latest molding techniques should be able to bring sculpture within the reach of almost everybody.
During the past 4 decades I have been able to put this idea into practice and had the satisfaction and pleasure of seeing my work find its way into the homes of literally millions of people.
As I continue this concept into a fifth decade, the internet provides a means of taking this idea one step further by connecting directly to a myriad of folk some of whom are already familiar with my work, collectors maybe, others to whom it is new.
The other forces behind my work have been my love of the natural world and in particular the wild creatures that inhabit it and my desire to see them protected. I have always felt that the most helpful use of my abilities is to create beautiful and moving renditions of these creatures that people could bring into their homes and their lives or gift to others whose empathy for these creatures might be nurtured by their proximity.
As I head into my "mature" years, I am motivated by a sense of urgency to sculpt as many as possible of the beautiful or fascinating or endangered creatures that I have omitted so far and also to resculpt many of the pieces that I created decades ago when I was just starting out as a sculptor.
So in this store you will find a mixture of newly created pieces and others that have been around for a while but which will not be available for very much longer.
