About

Hello there, and welcome to Joyful Creations! I am so thrilled you have come by.

I opened this shop because of my absolute love for anything related to sewing.

I first used a sewing machine when I was 11 years old (sitting on my Mom’s lap with her operating the peddle) when I was 12 I got my very own Singer Stylist 534-nothing fancy, just a sturdy dependable straight stitcher that I still use today- soon after I was operating it on my own and a passion was born.

Starting with doll clothes and then making clothes for myself, I discovered that I enjoyed adding to or twisting a pattern to achieve the look I wanted (take a sleeve from this pattern, a collar from another, add an extra detail of my own design and I have a custom garment without buying a new pattern!) Possibilities became endless and my imagination the only limit to what I could do (and even then there is still Pinterest to give my wheels a spin)

About 7 years ago a friend was moving to California with her family and I wanted to make something special that she could take with her. After weeks of brain wracking I got the idea for a tote bag. Having gotten into quilting recently I made the back to be a quilt block. Then to make it more than just a “tote” I added 3 different sized pockets on the inside.
I liked it so much that I made myself one, and then they were so fun to make that I did three others (now available in my shop)

Then two years ago another friend was having a baby shower and, ever wanting my gifts to be unique, I decided to design my own diaper bag. It was a grand hit (as were the 4 others I made after) and I was urged to market my products.
Once again a passion was born; to design my products, be it bags or anything else, to function well and look great at the same time- and with me, as well as most everyone else I’ve asked, for a bag to function it needs pockets and lots of them!
I love my work and strive to provide you with excellence in every way. Even more important than pockets something has to be well made for it to last and I will stand behind every stitch.

And now I don’t want to keep you any longer as you must have things to do (and I should be getting back to work, only it has been so pleasant talking to you, thanks so much for listening) I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my little corner. Have a nice day and God bless you.
