That's me in the photo, Juanie's kid. A lot of time has passed since that picture was taken!

I have always enjoyed the world of the unusual and different; life with a healthy dash of oddity. I have early memories of my Grandfather telling us scary stories, mixing up “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" with tales of his own childhood growing up on a farm in the South Dakota. The tales came with spooky pictures doodled on napkins...the farm, the church, the old bridge...they scared us, my sister and I, but we always asked for more.

Not surprisingly I was brought up in a family that put as much emphasis on Fall and the Halloween as we did Winter and Christmas. I grew up raised on a healthy diet of Addams Family, Munsters, and late night Creature Features. I read stories by Poe, built models of the classic Universal Monsters, and was fascinated by the idea of the supernatural.

I studied commercial photography in college and often threw in something unusual or creepy to break the monotony a bit or just to get a rise out of the instructors. After college I found myself doing commercial work, product catalogs, portraits, and architecture. These days I try and focus on shooting for myself and for my own enjoyment. I often find the influences from my earlier years creep into my work (some creepier than others). I hope you enjoy the images, I certainly enjoyed making them!
