Announcement   Bold. Modern. Simple. Organic. Timeless. My paintings are vivacious yet peaceful and sophisticated. They are derived from personal inner journeys and strokes of chance. I layer multiple washes of color with gesso, mediums and graphite or charcoal lines, and examine various thoughts and emotions as each painting takes on a life of its own. My designs can be found at Wayfair, Overstock.com and WalMart in addition to other home decor locations. To see more of my work, follow my Instagram feed - @judyjacobsart or visit www.judyjacobsart.com for more information including shows, events & classes. I do ship internationally - just contact me for a shipping quote. If you want to commission a painting or order a print of an original work, please PM me for pricing.

About

I Quit!

"Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become." -- Steve Jobs

After 30+ years in the commercial real estate development and property management field, I was mentally and physically burned out and it was affecting my overall health. Painting and making art had been part of my life ever since I could remember, and during my "off-hours," I would pour my energies into painting and making glass art while I dreamed about turning my creative passion into a full-time, paying job.

After careful consideration and lots of saving, I decided I needed to quit living other peoples' dreams and start living my own. On 11-1-11, I turned in my hard hat and high heels for paints and some brushes, and I haven't looked back.

So many amazing things have happened to me since then including:

1. The national magazine called MORE published my story in their "Reinvention" column for their April, 2012 edition (the magazine is no longer in circulation but feel free to PM me for a copy of the article)

2. I won an Honorable Mention in an international competition for abstract art

3. Many of my designs are licensed and printed on brushed metal. They can be found in WalMart and online through Wayfair.com & Overstock.com

4. I've been in countless shows and galleries, and am now selling my art exclusively through on-line venues and open studio shows.

I consider myself to be a full-time artist but still do a few consulting jobs and leasing gigs to stay in touch with the real estate world and help pay the bills.

I paint or create something every single day, and I wake up with a smile on my face, ready to jump out of bed and take on the world. I consider myself to be blessed and very lucky to be finally living my dream!

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I do accept commission requests depending on my schedule and availability. You can contact me through ETSY or send me an email - jj@judyjacobsart.com or and tell me what you're looking for including budget/size/colors/time frame/etc.

Care instructions

All of my paintings are finished with two coats of protective UV varnish which makes maintenance a breeze. They can be easily cleaned or dusted with a soft dry cloth, and if food or drink happens to get on the piece you can use a damp cloth to clean it off.

Fused glass art pieces can be cleaned with a glass cleaner or warm water and a soft cloth.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All of my art is carefully finished and wrapped to prevent damage during shipping. If you are purchasing a painting or work of mine for a gift, please let me know and I'll be happy to gift wrap and add a note (additional charges may apply, depending on the size and intricacy of wrapping request)

Wholesale availability

My line of fused glass Christmas Ornaments are available for wholesale - Minimum purchase is $150 and buyer must supply copy of Seller's Permit and proof of bricks and mortar sales outlet.
