About

Inspired by nature. Handmade with love.

Hello! My name is Jurate. I was born and raised in Lithuania- beautiful small European country by the Baltic Sea. A few years ago, my fiancé (now he's my husband :) ) and I moved to the United States.
The name Jurate ( PRONOUNCED: Yoo-ra-teh) originated from the pagan Lithuanian legend of Jurate & Kastytis, written in poetic form. Jurate was the goddess of the Baltic Sea who fell in love with the fisherman Kastytis. When the God of thunder heard of this affair, he shattered Jurate's amber kingdom below the sea, which resulted in amber pieces washing up all over the Baltic coast line to this day.
The name is derived from Lithuanian jūra "sea".

How I've got my nickname Juja?.. My niece, when she was a little girl, couldn't pronounce my name, so she started calling me Juja. It was just a lot easier for her :) A correct pronunciation of my nickname is (PRONOUNCED: You- yeah)
I'm a graduate of University of Technology - have a degree in Industrial Textile technologies and design. Right after the graduation I worked in one of the biggest Lithuanian textile companies as an international sales manager.
I work a lot and hard, I like designing everything what's nice and makes me or anybody else feeling good and beautiful!
I want everybody feel good and comfortable here in my little shop and I hope that you'll visit my shop again! See you soon! :)
