Performance knitting
My background is working as a graphic designer which I love. I worked in London for a few years before moving to Bristol, where I’ve been freelancing for over 10 years. I divide my time between graphic design, craft design and my family. If there’s a gene for knitting I’m sure I have it, I come from a long line of obsessive knitters. I learnt when I was a child and my obsession kicked in, in my twenties.
I love the combination of maths, science and craft that’s involved in designing a knitting pattern. Its fun making knitting look beautiful but I’m a really practical person and my designs have to function well too. This is how I got into designing baby shoes, I was fed up with socks falling off my young children. I tried the leather slip on ones but the leather would go hard if they got wet. There are some fab crochet designs but my love is knitting, so I started designing modern patterns that would stay on. They worked really well, I started gifting to friends to test, they loved them too, so here I am.
