Adventures in Printmaking and Painting - (Almost) Everyday I'm Hustlin'...

Expanding my narrow definition from “painter” to “painter printmaker and more…” allowed my creativity to blossom. Realizing how much fun it is to carve and print a linocut is (a ton) brought me full circle as it helped me rediscover how exciting it can be to paint a painting.

Everything in my store is made by hand. I carve my linoleum blocks, print them up with my trusty wooden spoon, paint them or add color with a Sharpie pen, and paint my canvases, roofing paper, or watercolor paper. When I'm in my home studio in McKinney, TX, I'm happily anticipating the results of a hopeful experiment.

I really enjoy printing linocuts on vintage maps (despite the irony of having NO sense of direction) – and as an artist, I appreciate the map colors and details. I also print in the classic linocut style of black ink on white paper.

Looking very closely at the detailed beauty of a bird’s feathers, seeing their funny expressions, and exploring my home state’s symbol – the fleur de lis - inspires me. I'm an active member of NTPG (North Texas Printmaking Guild), the McKinney Artist Studio Tour (MAST), and the PTA. Thanks for joining me!

Linocut prints and 2D linocut mixed media prints are slid carefully in a clear plastic protective sheet. Then the protected print is taped to 2 sheets of cardboard, protecting it on all sides, while keeping it from sliding around in shipping. Then this cardboard print sandwich is sent in a plastic envelope right to you!

Paintings and ornaments are wrapped in bubble wrap and then shipped very carefully in protective boxes. (Paintings are carefully wrapped in glassine prior to being bubble wrapped for added protection.)

FREE gift wrapping is available. Please select the wrapping option during checkout for this service.
