While very heavily pregnant with my third child, and only daughter, I got the itch to make her all the pretty things. You know, the bows, the leggings, the dresses, all the froo froo stuff people are putting on their little girls. After being the mom of boys for 8 years at that point, I was ready to dress her up! I bought a sewing machine, a miniature one for $10 on Black Friday, and set to work. Then I decided I wanted to make her a quilt. My mom made quilts, why couldn't I? But that mini machine wasn't going to cut it. So I begged and pleaded with the hubs to allow me to buy a normal sewing machine and he agreed. Then I started sewing, and sewing, and sewing some more. Next thing I knew I was quilting, and I was blogging about it. Then I started making bags and pouches and oh boy were they fun. I wore my little machine out, which led to more begging and pleading of the hubs for a fancy machine, a workhorse that could put up with my demands. Which he agreed again.

Fast forward to now, one more child later (another boy), and the addition of an embroidery machine and I'm doing what I love.
