JulietteBeaupin's Shop Announcement

Juliette Beaupin draws her inspiration from the heart of modern American design, of which major references as the fiberglass chair by Charles and Ray Eames, Tulip chairs by Eero Saarinen, or Diamond chairs by Harry Bertoia. She also admires the work of French designer Pierre Paulin, particularly his work in the 1960’s and 70’s: the Tongue chair, the Oyster chair and the CM 190 armchair. Clean lines and bold colors.

Juliette Beaupin’s first creations are made from chairs from the 1950’s. Her idea is to renovate chairs that were of every day use in the kitchen, but that had the aesthetics she finds so appealing. Hand-picked for their simple and elegant lines, these chairs were however only rarely comfortable, which is why they are transformed by hand individually to become modern, however confortable objects. Each chair is stuffed and renovated with pretty fabrics to integrate today’s contemporary spaces.

The fabrics chosen to cover the chairs, designed by Danish manufacturer Kvadrat, are of very high quality. The Hallingdal fabric (70 % wool, 30 % viscose), designed in 1965 by designer architect Nanna Ditzel, is chosen for its deep colors and slight sheen. As for the Tonus design (90 % wool, 10 % helanca), also beautiful and a little bit stretchy, imagined by artist Nina Koppel, fits any type of furniture perfectly. These two fabrics exist in a very wide range of rich, vibrant colors. The designer particularly likes green meadow, sky blue and steel grey tones. These warm woolen fabrics are also privileged for their intense textural effect.

Happily coordinated, the chairs of this first collection bring a cheerful and original touch. Don’t hesitate in asking for advice, we can help you to choose designs according to your taste.
