Announcement   Welcome!

Here at Junquey Gal I make one-of-a-kind totes, purses, pillows, stockings... showcasing vintage linens, especially 1940s barkcloth, and fabric scraps, trim & buttons. I love to hand-bead lots of little details and create pretty new things from scraps and salvaged fabric. Thanks for the visit!

About

Rescue.Recreate.Repeat

Welcome! Each Junquey Gal apparel item is thoughtfully rescued and sourced, and recreated into an on-trend fashion statement recreated for the vintage-loving, country-chic, farm-gal wannabe that resides deep inside of you. A tiny step, perhaps, towards your inner hippie, hipster, gypsy, eco-friendly soul.

Decades of foraging estate sales, thrift stores and flea markets have resulted in a stash of gorgeous vintage fabrics – barkcloth, silk, silk shantung and every variety of drapery fabric. Just like Scarlett O’Hara – you may be wearing the drapes, but instead of a gown – just little swatches of remnants. Your Junquey Gal items will have a nice sturdy, often designer, foundation and then will be transformed by frayed edges, patched hankies, sun-bleached brocade, ripped seams, and impetuous imperfection of vintage. That’s who we are, and what we like. Our own kind of perfection.

To care for your item, we suggest spot treating jackets first and then, if you really must, dry cleaning. If you want to wash an item – please do so on the gentle cycle, with cold water, hang dry and low setting on the iron. We mix and match comparable fabrics and trims but there is always the chance that a spin in the washer and dryer may leave you with new fraying. We like that but we want to make sure you are prepared for the unique care of your OOAK original offering.

Non-smoking home but we do have pets; your item is created in a separate studio away from the animals though. We try to describe our items in detail, please ask questions before purchase if you are unsure of anything.

Thank you for supporting my small business and passion!
Best regards,
Kelley (aka Junquey Gal)
