About

Just A Second had its roots in my very young years when I played with my cousin on my grandmother's porch using trading (picture) cards as wallpaper samples to show my pretend customers my ideas for decorating their homes. I progressed through the years to decorating college dorm rooms while majoring in art, and practicing in our own home while developing a love of primitives and antiquing and decorating and gaining enough self confidence to rent a space in an antique/consignment store. After moving to several other stores that were more in tune with my love of decorating and display, I opened my own shop in 2009 with antiques, decor, and hand crafted items. It was located in the same building in which my husband housed his publishing business. I took over more and more space and added a few friends with complimentary hand-crafted products which enhanced the variety of offerings for our little specialty shop. After five years, our shop was torn down for a state highway project, and I again downsized to a booth in an antique mall and progressed to a beautiful space in the store of a vintage loving, decor loving friend. But all good things must come to an end, and so it did. The business model changed and it was no longer a good fit for me. So here I am in our detached garage, rehabbed to house my workshop/studio and on Etsy, the retail outlet where I can sell the vintage gifts and decor and hand crafted items I love.
