Modern handcrafted stoneware pottery rooted in nature.
My adventures in pottery began in early 2006 in a tiny mountain hamlet in Arizona. Living in the midst of the largest stand of Ponderosa pines in the world I was certainly influenced by my surroundings. You will often see natural elements from the forest incorporated into my work. The twig handles on my signature pieces were also a way for me to contribute to our local fire fuels reduction program.
Just Mare Pottery launched in October 2007 on Etsy allowing me to reach an international audience from my little studio in the forest.
We recently relocated to Southern Colorado. I’m excited to see how being in the shadow of Pikes Peak and the surrounding prairie influences my new work.
All of my pottery is hand crafted. Most pots are thrown on the wheel, while some are hand built or a combination of the two. I fire all of my work in an electric kiln twice and sometimes three times to upwards of 2232 degrees F.
Of course I only use non-toxic lead free glazes. My functional ware is also dishwasher and microwave safe with a few noted exceptions.

I carefully pack each order to ensure its safe arrival at your door. In the unlikely event of any breakage I will either replace the items or offer you a refund.
1) Contact me within 7 days of receiving a damaged or defective item(s), and 2) take photographs of the damaged packaging and damaged item(s), send the pictures to me, and retain all original packaging.
