Samples arrived completely intact despite being left in the mailbox all afternoon in the Louisiana heat. Colors are beautiful and my lips taste like Thin Mints after applying! Thank you!
I bet you're tired of wasting money on makeup you can't use.
I love makeup. Always have. But until I made my own, I had not ONCE had a foundation color that was right for my skin. All of them were too pink, or too orange; too light or too dark. Never, ever right.
You see, I have olive skin. According to most makeup companies, olive skin does not exist. Or they think it should be covered with another, somehow BETTER color. So I spent all of my makeup-wearing years with my face not matching my body at all.
Fun fact: when you're wearing makeup and your neck and chest are a different color than your face, it makes you feel like your neck and face are the wrong color.
MORE fun fact: It's not. If your made-up face doesn't match your body, your makeup is wrong.
Makeup should be available in colors that actually match your skin tone. Your face should match your body, because your skin is right. It's just right. Embrace it.
If you're like me, you may have bought a heck of a lot of foundations that you can't use, trying to find one that was right for your coloring.
You may also be concerned about what ingredients are in your makeup. So much information is available now to anyone who wants to know anything. But if you're in a "beggars can't be choosers" situation with the lack of a proper color for your complexion, you may have been willing to overlook the scary ingredients in hopes of finding a decent color and texture.
Face it: if a makeup looks awful, you probably won't use it, no matter how awesome the ingredients are.
When researching ingredients, I couldn't BELIEVE the junk we've been putting on our faces. YIKES! Not to mention all the animal testing that goes on in this industry. No thanks.
My passion is helping you find makeup in colors you need, without wasting any money at all on stuff you can't use. That's why I offer inexpensive samples of everything I make. And if you take advantage of the Perfect Face Kits, you'll never even have to pay for a sample. There are 12 free samples with the kits, and you get more free samples with each full size item you buy, forever. I'm absolutely wacky about providing products that are both safe and beautiful.
I'm on your side, sister.
I'm also on the side of animals. Creatures don't need to suffer or die for our beauty. It's unnecessary and cruel. That's why Just Pure Minerals products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Thanks for hanging out with me for a minute. I look forward to helping you. Have an awesome day!

Hiya! I'm Jo. My husband and I have two sons, two dogs, and a yard full of very anxious but well-fed squirrels. We live in beautiful Boise, Idaho: a great place to visit, but you'd TOTALLY want to live there.

Frequently asked questions
How do I decide which samples to try, part 1:
When choosing your samples, here are some things to consider. Some are obvious, some may not be. If you would like help, you can email us with the list of your answers to the questions below, and we can narrow it down for you!
- What is your hair and eye color?
- Would you say you have a light, medium, tan, or deep complexion?
- What single color do you think you look best in?
- What types of color combinations do you like to wear usually?
----- Black, Grey, Deep Browns, White
----- Deep Purple, Fuchsia, Deep Blues, Black
----- Light blues, pinks,
----- Deep, Bold Warm Earthy tones - deep oranges, browns, greens, cream
----- Light Warm Earthy Tones - beige, peach, cream, etc
----- Or any other color combination?
How do I decide which samples to try, part 2:
Look at your wardrobe; think about what you feel you look awesome in.
What colors are those? (Be detailed – are the colors are light or dark, muted or intense?)
These questions are a little redundant, but sometimes approaching the same general question from a different angle can spark different answers, so it helps people become more aware of their color choices. Others can just look at one of the questions and know exactly how to answer it.
For instance, if you know you look amazing in orange, but wear a lot of black and white, I'd recommend warm tones. If you look amazing in purple, but wear a lot of black and white, I'd recommend cool tones. :-)
How do I decide which foundation samples to try, part 3:
Here’s a biggie: In the past, when you have tried foundations that did NOT work for you color-wise, what was wrong with them? Too yellow? Too orange? Too pink?
Your goal with a foundation should be to make your face appear to belong with your body. Your face should be very similar to your neck and upper chest, because that’s what’s closest, and that’s what’s going to make you look weird if it doesn’t go well together. (You can tell you’re using the wrong shade for your complexion if you feel like you want to put foundation on your neck and chest to make them the right color. They are already the right color. It’s your makeup that’s wrong.)
How can I tell if the foundation is the right color?
Your goal with a foundation should be to make your face appear to belong with your body. Your face should be very similar to your neck and upper chest, because that’s what’s closest, and that’s what’s going to make you look weird if it doesn’t go well together.
Make sure you don’t just look in a small mirror just at your face. Stand back and look at yourself in a larger mirror, paying particular attention to the colors of your face, neck and chest, and how they look compared to each other. Also, chances are, your bathroom lighting is going to be the worst for testing color. (Unless you have a big skylight. Then you might be okay.)
Use a bit of blush when testing so you don't think you're more pasty than you are. :-)
What's the best way to apply mineral makeup?
For the most natural-but-better look, you definitely will want to use a Kabuki brush. If you use a big fluffy powder brush to apply mineral foundation, it will go on unevenly and too heavily. You need to be able to apply a small amount and distribute it evenly for the best results.
