Justice Jewelry - Handcrafted Jewelry with Meaning
Our Philosophy
JEWELRY IS PERSONAL. It is individual and has meaning for the wearer. It symbolizes our values, beliefs and customs. From ancient times, people adorned themselves with jewelry to express their tribal, religious, or family affiliations. Today, we wear jewelry in the same way as our ancestors. We have an emotional attachment to these objects, and seek jewelry that speaks to our need for beautiful objects that represent who we are and what we stand for.
(I wear the silver heart-shaped ring my father gave my mother! It has meaning).
Our Story
In December, 2016, inspired in part by the BREXIT Safety Pin Movement in England, we started the Safety Pin Jewelry Co for friends and family who wanted a way to speak up for the most vulnerable in our society. The guiding question was, How do we create jewelry that is both personal and meaningful, and has an emotional connection for the wearer? What we found was that by creating safety pin jewelry with a symbol of love, such as a heart, cross, Star of David, Equality sign or Hamsa etc., our jewelry was personal and had meaning. Our friends and family loved it! We have recently expanded our jewelry line to include earrings, necklaces, and bracelets for both men and women that have a meaningful connection to the beliefs, and values of the wearer.
Why is our shop named Justice Jewelry Co?
My Ancestral Surname is Justice. The motto for the surname Justice is "non sine causa" - Translation: "Not without a Cause". Ironically, I have spent most of my adult life as an advocate for Justice. It is natural that we are the Justice Jewelry Co. It is a cause with us to create beautiful, high quality jewelry that has meaning for all people.
