Justin Charles started collecting vintage clothing & accessories in the early 1980's. Preferring the look & quality of older garments, he scoured local thrift shops for pieces from the 40's & 50's to wear as his everyday wardrobe. This passion for fashion lead to a design degree from Parsons & a career as a designer in NYC. Working from vintage to design new styles became the norm for many houses, so Justin continued to search out the best vintage finds. World travel for work lead to even more searching. Now his collection is a huge archive, carefully stored & labeled, and each piece eventually offered for sale. Every decade from the 20th century is represented, with the largest inventory from the 1970's & 80's. Personal favorites include American design from the 1970's (Girorgio di Sant' Angelo, Geoffrey Beene, Halston, Gil Aimbez, Clovis Ruffin, John Kloss etc.), European design from the 1980's (YSL, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler, etc.), and 1930's bias-cut dresses (Vionnet, Gres, & especially Adrian, and the gowns he made for stars like Jean Harlow on the Hollywood silver screen).
