Announcement    Vintage Czech Bohemian Jewelry and Antiques. Enjoy the elegance of the past: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JuveloVintage
Offers are welcome, special discounts available 💜
I am a passionate collector of vintage costume jewelry, vintage Christmas ornaments and art glass decorative items from Czechoslovakia, where I was born. Within years I have acumulated a plenty of treasures, interesting pieces from the past, fabulous Czech rhinestone and glass stone vintage jewelry made in Gablonz, Bohemia - the craddle of Rhisestone Costume Jewelry.
During years I have learned a lot about the history of Czech jewelry. Unfortunately
it came to my attention, that descriptions are being misinterpreted, many FAKES are being described as vintage or antique. My assessment of the misrepresented Czech rhinestone works is corroborated by the antique and vintage jewelry experts of i.e. Museum of Glass and Jewelery in Czech Republic or RubyLane and Enchantment
Village Costume Jewelry where they have published an article on this issue: http://www.vintagecostumejewels.com/Info/Fake_Designer_Jewelry_Alert.htm#Czech_Uglies
I have been a member of the Etsy and Ruby Lane community for years with positive
feedback, you can buy with confidence. If you are searching any particular item
and don't see it in my shop, just eMail me, I might have it or I will try to locate
it for you.

FAKE DESIGNS ALERT
Please be aware, that jewelry pieces or Christmas trees signed 'Husár D', TABOO,
Bijoux M.G. are NOT VINTAGE and not old Czech traditional designer names or marks,
as many sellers wrongly claim. Those companies did not exist at those times, these pieces are recently made piecesin vintage look and to describe them as vintage is fraudulent misrepresentation.
Authentic Czech jewelry and decorative pieces were always finished with a plating before they were to be sold. Most of these pieces that were made between the 1890s
and 1930s was not marked or signed. Rarely items were marked with engraved Czecho,
Czecho-Slovakia, Czechoslovakia or Made in Czechoslovakia and all those pieces
were plated on the back.
It is still possible, to find a vintage item with an unfinished or partially finished back
that was never sold by the company that made it, but such pieces never have tags
with designer or company names.

👉 The production of Czech rhinestone trees did not start before late 1960s,
they are definitely not dated back to the 1930s or 40s, as many sellers claim,
especially if the pieces contain AB stones, which were developed by Swarovski
in 1955.
👉 Husár D and Bijoux M.G. was founded in 2006, Taboo in 2014, Lilien in 2006.
Mr. David Husár (c. 45) is currently living in Jablonec (former Gablonz) in Czech Republic and can be also found in the Czech Trade Register, manufacturing
and selling rhinestone and glass jewelry.
There is no evidence of any of these names or signatures in the history
of Czech Jewelry, nothing is known about these mysterious traditional
manufacturers in the historical records in which they were supposed to have
been so well known and successful in business.
Besides of that, why would a true famous jewelry designer allow unfinished jewelry
to be sold with his name attached to it …?

👉 Don't buy Czech vintage jewelry online without seeing a detailed photo
of the back. If the back of an item is unfinished AND signed it is a FAKE!
All such items have been created recently and made to look old because
the backs have not been plated, i.e., the soldering marks and raw brass
are exposed, which was not common on genuine vintage Czech jewelry.
All these FAKES should not be offered among genuine beautiful Bohemian
jewelry treasures.

The history of Rhinestones:
Gablonz, a city in Bohemia, Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia) is the cradle
of rhinestone costume jewelry. The first artificial jewelry was produced in 18th
century in Gablonz and was exported throughout Europe. Already in 1820 Gablonz makers exported more than 2½ bilion cut glass beads and rhinestones in a year worldwide. Beginning 1830's Gablonz craftsmen began making lines of fashion
jewelry thousands tons of glass components and rhinestones were exported
into the whole world, especially to Germany, India and the USA.
In 1918 the Czechs and Slovaks became united, were freed from the rule
of Austria
and Hungary and the land was called Czechoslovakia.
Prior to World War I, the jewelry from this area was called Bohemian and mostly
not marked. After WW I (1918) the jewelry was ocasionally marked with Czecho,
Czecho-Slovakia, Czechoslovakia or Made in Czechoslovakia and all these pieces
are plated on the back.
