About JypsyJewels

Sales 793
On Etsy since 2011

I have always been living in the past, the great 60's! I would make what we called "love beads". I bought some Wisteria incense, a lava lamp in 2009 and rocked to Led Zepplin, Cream, and my ultimate fave, the Beatles, while recreating my "love bead necklaces". I bought multi colored seed beads and string and got to work and it was a labor of love. I later went to wire instead of string and bigger beads. Soon I had love bead necklaces hanging everywhere and not idea what to do with them. I gave some to my daughter, who is lost in the 60's as well, but my sons were not keen on love beads. I saw an article about Etsy and thought, "I wonder". In 2011 I started an account and with really awful pictures, posted some of my love beads and necklaces with large beads. I cannot describe the feeling when I got my first sale. It really didn't matter about the money part of it; someone loved my "love beads!" And I was over the moon when I got my first review! As I searched the other shops I was awe struck by the immense talent on Etsy. I dared myself to get into the chains, jump rings, charms and pendants. I have really progressed with my style and ideas. Basic assembly of findings and themes; animals, ocean, beach, gothic, bohemian, and other pieces came together to be something individual and special. I still string the "love beads", but I just hang them around my house.
