Announcement   New website with much more here! www.kabinshop.com
Thank you so much Etsy for featuring my shop on your blog: https://blog.etsy.com/en/featured-shop-kabin-shop/

Hand built ceramics / pottery tableware, planters, vases, jewellery and hand painted and printed greetings cards . My work is textural, sometimes irregular and asymmetrical but finished to a high level.

AFTER A RECENT ABUSIVE CUSTOMER I WILL ONLY BE DOING CUSTOM ORDERS VIA MY WEBSITE : www.kabinshop.com
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSES DESIGN OR SEND ME PHOTOS OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK AS I WILL NOT COPY ANYONE ELSE'S WORK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Follow the process on instagram @kabinshop . I make small batches as well as one off pieces .I work with different types of stoneware clay that is fired to a high temperature in my kiln. The hand built style of my work means that no two pieces will ever be quite the same as i do not use moulds or the potters wheel. Every piece has its own personality, and is not simply a functional item.

Prices often relate to the time it takes me to make and glaze , so a small piece could cost more than a large item.
Mostly i turn down wholesale orders as i do not have time.

About

Kabinshop story.

I opened Kabinshop in summer 2015. I have spent my lifetime drawing, painting, making things and working as a make-up artist and illustrator for numerous publications from Vogue to The Observer. I have never worked for anyone in a full time job, i have always been self employed. After my degree in Textile design at Central Saint Martins school of Art i became an illustrator and later make-up artist. Much later i bought some clay and began making ceramics and totally fell in love with it. I am completely self taught but the subject is vast so i will never stop learning. Everything i make is totally made with my hands, i don't use a potters wheel and nothing is slip cast. All my glazes are painstakingly painted on. I like every piece to be unique or part of a small batch.
All my cards are either hand painted originals or designed by me from an illustration i have made or a photograph i have taken.

I am very concerned with sustainability, recycling, making the things i need and rejecting fast fashion. I try my best to be a minimalist and only own beautiful or useful objects. I have struggled with the idea of bringing yet more products in to the world so hope that this is what i am making. Something you will own forever. Your item will always arrive perfectly packaged but i use 100% recycled bubble wrap, line all my shipping boxes with recycled cardboard and try to make my own envelopes.

I work from home in a converted pet food factory. I love the whole process of making, from thinking of ides, sketching them, watching something form in my hands and take on a life of its own then firing and glazing and waiting to see if the finished item looks anything like i hoped! Its a long process! I have so many ideas for new items to make, its an ongoing journey!

Kabin means Vase in Japanese , it seemed like a fitting title as i have begun to make vases and vessels in ceramics and of course its my home to all my products !

I have just opened a second Etsy shop to sell my vintage finds called vintagekabinstore, please wait as it slowly builds listings!

Care instructions

My ceramics are made from stoneware clay and glazed to a very high temperature so are durable, but i advise hand washing and drying with care and avoiding the microwave or dishwasher due to the delicate nature.

Shipping

I use Royal Mail to ship domestic and international items.

INTERNATIONAL ceramics shipping prices are for tracked shipping. If you would like cheaper untracked shipping please let me know and i will refund you the excess paid. Untracked shipping is at your own risk.

Cards are sent untracked unless you request tracked shipping.

UK shipping is untracked unless requested.

I try to make my Postage & Packing prices as reasonable as possible. Please remember ceramics take time to pack safely. I will not be able to ship your item if the correct shipping price is not paid.

Can i collect my item in person?

Yes. I live in East London. Please use code "COLLECTIONONLY" at checkout.

Blog giveaways

I love to work with bloggers but I don't give items away to bloggers for free. Happy to lend for press or provide photos.

Returns policy

I do not accept returns unless the item arrives broken or damaged. In this case please contact me within 5 days with photos and return once agreed within 7 days of receipt.

No returns on anything else.

How often do i ship?

Either the same day or next working day if item is in stock.

Order specifics

I urge you to sent me a convo when making your order if you need to know anything at all or need to specify any colour/size etc . Most of my orders are international so getting everything right before shipping is crucial.

SHIPPING PROBLEMS

PLEASE send me a convo when you order with anything that will make the delivery process smooth. For example a safe place / neighbour for the parcel to be left etc . Thanks!
