Wonderful, wonderful. I have 4 custom dyed skeins that are half silk and half merino. What more could one ask for? Beautiful!

The Joy of Color

Like so many before me, I wandered into the wonderful world of fibre quite by accident. After being diagnosed with MS in 2000, my doctor recommended I take up knitting to improve and maintain the fine motor control in my hands and fingers. Knitting led to crochet, and I fell completely and irrevocably in love. In my endless search for incredible and unique yarns, I discovered the world of hand dyed, and fell in love yet again. The first time I dyed a skein of yarn was very much like a homecoming. I found a fire and a passion I didn't know I had. In opening my shop, I hope to share that passion, my love of color and proclivity for luxury fibre with you.

Our goal at Kaleidoscope DyeWorks, is to offer you only the finest quality of Canadian wool and luxury fibres, hand dyed in unique and vibrant colors. I love doing custom orders, so if you have a desire for something that is yours, and yours alone, let's work together to make it a reality. If you can dream it, I can dye it!

It is my pleasure to offer you hand dyed & hand painted yarns that are unique and luxurious. Each skein is treated with gentle, loving kindness to preserve the integrity of the beautiful fibre.

I use only professional acid dyes, and allow the yarn to dry naturally.

I make every effort to ensure that the pictures you see are as accurate a representation of the colours as I can achieve. Different monitors and devices will have some variation in colour.

As all my yarns are dyed in very small batches, please make sure you order enough for your project. If I don't have enough of what you are looking for in stock, use the custom order option, and arrangements can be made to have it dyed up for you. Part of the beauty of hand dyed yarn is that no two skeins are exactly alike. Even when dyed in the same batch, there will be slight variations between the skeins.

Different yarn bases take dye differently, so keep this in mind when custom ordering. I can usually have your custom order ready to ship in about two weeks, but I will let you know if it is going to be longer.

My dye studio is in my home, and is a clean, smoke free environment. Once the yarn is fully dry, it is tucked away to await it's new home. I do however have three little darlings named Pip, Meeka, and Lobo, so if you have a severe cat allergy, you should be aware of this.

If you have any questions at all, please do contact/message me. It is my goal to make sure that the yarn you get is the yarn you've been dreaming of, and I'd love to chat with you!

Returns and exchanges
All yarns and fibres are meticulously inspected before they leave my studio, if you should find a defect in the yarn, please contact me immediately.

A refund will be issued if the yarn is found to be defective. Please remember that every attempt is made to give you the truest representation of the colour of the yarn, but all monitors are a little different, and each skein is unique. I will not issue a refund because the colour looked a little different on your computer, or because of the expected variations in hand dyed yarn. Most importantly I want you to be happy. If you're not, please contact me.

Refunds will not be issued due to Post Office errors. Please refer to our shipping policy.

All sales items are non refundable.

I want you to be completely delighted with your purchase, if for any reason you are not, please contact me, so we can discuss it.

A note about shipping with Canada Post. I must ask that international customers please be patient when waiting for their parcels. I have had parcels to the US arrive in as little as 5 days, or take as long as two weeks. This, unfortunately, is completely beyond my control. I thank you for your understanding and patience.

In the rare event of a lost parcel - Canadian customers must allow 14 mailing days (Mon - Fri) and US/International customers must allow 30 mailing days before a lost item ticket can be filed with Canada Post. Once Canada Post or the USPS has verified that that the parcel is indeed lost, your order will be replaced and shipped express at no cost to you. A refund will not be issued.
