My husband got me the honey jar and spoon rest, they were so lovely that I requested a milk jug. Just as lovely. Shipping was quick and we get lots of complements.

Purchased for my MIL for Mother's Day. It's so beautiful. I know she'll love it. Item was shipped and received quickly, and was packaged very well to avoid any damage. I would definitely purchase another if the opportunity arises.

About

New Nostalgia

My pottery is characterized by several pattern based collections. While developing these collections I study different eras and make pottery that will reflect distinctive design elements of the time. Currently I'm most inspired by the early to mid 1900's. Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Mid-Century Modern, Boho, and Ethnic prints help formulate my ideas about making functional and enchanting tableware. Since the colors and patterns I use are inspired by vintage décor a sense of nostalgia is created. Each finished piece becomes an interpretation of a time and place.

Glazing is the most prominent aspect of my pottery. I use print-making techniques to create layers of color and pattern on each surface. I'm partial to botanical and abstract patterns, high-gloss transparent glazes, jewel tones, bare clay, ruffles, and layers. I often integrate these design essentials into my work. A piece is successful when its wheel alterations, impressions, slip decoration, and glaze design fluctuates effortlessly throughout the form.

I've chosen to throw with dark-brown stoneware. which is equally rich with or without glaze, which allows me to create pattern in unglazed areas.

I sell my pottery in stores and galleries throughout the country, at craft shows, and online through my Etsy stores "kandacelockwood", and "CabinetCouture".
