5 out of 5 starsThis was my first time ordering from this seller but it won’t be my last. I ordered a pound each of Jacob and Shetland (washed fleece) as part of the “Shave Em to Save EM” program. The package arrived today and I am beyond thrilled! Both bags of wool are beautiful, very clean and almost no vegetable matter (I had to look closely to find any at all)! Excellent customer service, and top quality wool! Thank you KanieMae!

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful fleece. Nice variety of lengths and sections of fleece from different areas of the sheep. The color is called 'mooskit' and its one I have been searching for for awhile. I am imrpessed with how little vm is in the fleece, even though the listing did warn me the sheep are not coated and to expect vm. This is absolutely hand processing ready! Thank you so much for making it available. The item shipped in a timely manner and came in a very nice, clean package. It would make a great surprise gift for a fiber artist: a handspinner, a needle felt artist, a nuno felter. Such a nice presentation. I was really impressed with the quality of the package and the contents.

My shop has allowed me to combine two of my favorite hobbies, knitting/crochet and raising sheep, into one business of producing homegrown wool yarn.
Welcome to KanieMae! I hope you enjoy looking at my wool products, and knit/crochet items. The creation of my shop has been in the works for many years, starting when I was child.
As a child I learned to knit and crochet from a family member, and it didn't take long until I was hooked. :) I was constantly working on a project and always trying my hand at more difficult patterns and techniques. One of my greatest thrills was to enter my work in our local county fair for others to see.
When I reached middle school age I started showing sheep through my local 4-H/FFA club. For many years I raised my own lambs and started caring for an entire flock. During and after college I continued to knit and crochet but was in need of a new challenge. I wanted to start spinning my own yarn from my own sheep.
At the time, my current flock of sheep weren't the right breeds for wool production. So with the help of my Dad, we set out to buy some wool breeds. Our flock now consists of Shetland and Jacob breeds, however there are still a few members of the original flock mixed in who we couldn't bear to part with. :)
It didn't take long for me to realize that we were producing more wool than I could use for myself, which is why I now offer it to you. All of the wool in my shop is produced on my Dad's farm in central Kentucky. I produce everything entirely by hand from shearing to finished product.
Thank you for stopping by my shop. I hope you like what you see. Please feel free to ask my any questions you might have.
