I bought this identical platter over 30 years ago and it just broke. I searched for a replacement and saw it on Etsy. While I thought the shipping cost was a bit high, it arrived perfectly safe and sound. The packing was wonderful.

Shabby's background:

I grew up in a home filled with Antiques. My mother owned a antique shop in San Francisco. Early on I was on the hunt with her. I can still remember some amazing estate sales in San Francisco and some not so glamorous memories of Dumpster diving on one of those famous steep San Francisco hills. What I will always remember are the big dinner parties. My mom ALWAYS used her pretty antique china. She said, that's what it's for! I just loved that Duncan Phyhe table set so beautifully with Staffordshire dishes. I am forever grateful that she did use all of her treasures on a regular basis. It meant so much more than just having them on display in a hutch!

Where I am today:
Today, I am married to a French man and together we have two little frogs. Our children were both born in France, but we moved shortly after. We moved back to California where I grew up. I continued to speak French for them for over 7 years. They never responded in French (not cool!) but understand everything we are saying. My biggest regret? All of those years living in France and I NEVER collected a single thing. Never made it to a flea market....nothing. But I knew I couldn't take it with me.

My Etsy Shop:
Moving back to The States meant I would have a permanent house. No more moving....and the collecting began. I was seriously one treasure away from being on "Hoarders." That's when I opened my Etsy Shop. Not buying treasures wasn't an option. Finding them new homes was. It was a perfect fit for me.

It is so inspiring knowing that I am find homes for these gorgeous treasures.

Why I love Vintage:
I love the history of all things vintage, but even more I adore the mystery. Who did they belong to? Was it cherished? I sold a lovely vintage Christmas goodie and the client wrote me note....it was the exact same object his grandparents always had on their Christmas Mantel every year. Reunited. I love that.

Facts:
I love VEGAS! We are only 8 hours by car. My children have been over 30 times. They love it.
I love transferware, Downton Abbey and red and white polka dots.

Where you can find me:

You can find me on Pinterest (way too often!! lol)

Or on my blog:

I have recently neglected my blog. I was called on last minute to teach French for last two years in local high schools. I had no time for all my fun hobbies. I am planning on getting back into blogging once again! Hope to see you there!!
