Working on my latest commissioned painting.
Here's an example of one of my abstract prints. This is a crop of a larger image which will be printed on photo paper.
Much as I love abstracts, sometimes I just have to capture the beauty of a traditional object or scene just as it is.
Hand-painted fabrics hanging to dry. They will later be made into sachets filled with locally-grown lavender.
Abstract photography is another of my obsessions. This photo was taken by panning over the lights atop a Yellow Cab.

Bringing Color to Your World

As one quick glance at my Etsy shop will tell you, I absolutely love working with color and texture! I love how color can convey joy and exuberance but can also be used to infuse an image with a sense of melancholy. I can't get enough of experimenting with various forms and techniques, both in my painting and my photography. I will never, ever get bored!!

As of now, I run my shop out of my apartment, where I fit my art into every spare moment between my day job and the other demands of life. But I aspire to the "Quit Your Day Job" dream and am thrilled to be making inroads in that direction. I know that whether or not I ever achieve the financial success to completely support myself with my art, I will never stop doing it, as I cannot imagine doing without the pure joy it brings me.

I hope you get half as much pleasure from seeing my art as I have from making it. Thanks so much for stopping by! :-)

My "studio" doubles as the tiny kitchen in my New York City apartment (or the sewing machine on my living room table...or the camera in my hand as I'm out and about in the city). I love using color and texture and experimenting with new techniques.
