5 out of 5 starsI LOVE Karla Kay’s scarves. I got one as a gift from my sister & then had to purchase one for a friend. I didn’t exactly “need” customer service, but was in touch prior to make sure to get the scarf that would work best for my friend…AND SHE LOVES ❤️ IT.

Here are 2 of my scarves that are drying awaiting the steam process to bind the dyes to the silk fabric.
Welcome to Karla Kay Art!
My journey as an artist started when my junior high art teacher introduced me to batik.
I went to college to learn more about art and batik. I was introduced to hand painted silk. I love working on silk. The shine of the fabric, the shimmer of the fabric as it moves. It brings my paintings to life. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Fiber Arts Degree.
I love the simplicity of the scarf as an item of clothing. It can make the simplest clothing items come alive. The colors of a silk scarf can bring out a person's complexion and enhance the eyes or smile of the person wearing it. Scarves are practical. They fix bad hair days, protect shoulders from the sun or provide warmth on an airplane, in the car or at the theater. They can be tied onto a purse or luggage to make identifying it easier. They can represent your favorite color, favorite flower or pet. Scarves are a clothing wonder and one is just never enough!
