About

Life is a gift

Karma Glass is a small grassroots business specializing in contemporary functional glass art. Karma Glass is comprised of one glass artist known as KDUB . I believe that Life is a gift we must all share. My goal as a glass artist is to express myself honestly and truly
After spending a small part of 2004 watching a friend (Evangelista) lampwork glass I was mystified by this seemingly impossible ancient practice of melting glass in a controlled manor. However at that time I was in school & observed as a novelty. Fast-forward to June of 2010 when I recognized a yearning to express myself in a creative way in an attempt to my fulfill my life. I spent a week learning from a old kindred spirit (Bob Byers w/ My Kinda Glass) in Raleigh NC and that was that! I bought my own torch & kiln and began to set up a home studio to help satisfy my soul. I then continued my lampworking education by studying the internet and working hard each day to define my style, after discovering the world of beautiful cadmium colors and making sure I had a firm foundation, I continued my journey. In the summer of 2011 I crossed paths with Aztec in Lawrenceville GA and he continued my education immensely by opening SO many doors of perception. Also in the early summer of 2011 on the dusty trail that is lampworking I met what would become a close friend and mentor named Matt Tyner of Blue Lily Studios in Asheville who selflessly and graciously shared his knowledge with no pretense and set me on a new path in lampworking by consciously and unconsciously providing me with an architecture for which to strive toward and continues to do so to this day. It is because I have been graced the ability to stand on the shoulders of these GIANTS that I stand before this internet community offering handmade goods and for that these men have my eternal gratitude. I spend nearly all of my waking hours engulfed in the flames creating items out of borosilicate glass in an attempt to connect to and soothe others in they're journey here on Earth.
I truly believe that if you love what you do you never work a day of your life. Today creating utilitarian art is my deepest passion and it keeps me busy full time. You only get what you give in Life and Karma Glass. is my vision to get hand blown glass to the masses for a reasonable price, However I truly believe that my greatest achievements of art to date are my beautiful and amazing children Shonah Nesta and Isabel Joy on any given day if I am not on the torch working I am soaking up as much playtime and love with my little monkeys as humanly possible. Life is a gift we all must share in.

Bless.
