Kate Brazier - Working as an Artist...
Hello and welcome to my Etsy page.
I specialise in contemporary layered watercolours, pen & ink and mixed media.
My work combines the use of contemporary watercolour painting with cut or torn papers layered to create three dimensional elements to draw the eye into the painting and create depth and interest.
My work ranges in size from miniature layered pieces, to much larger work.
I have been painting since I was very young and always knew that a career in the creative industry was how I wanted to make my living. After studying illustration at Hereford College of Art I worked for a commercial art gallery, based in Birmingham, but it wasn't long before I branched out on my own.
I started out with name paintings for children and babies and then, in 2011, I started creating personalised, layered cards for friends. These became very popular and evolved to larger family paintings, both mounted and framed.
My favourite products are my layered coastal and countryside themed pieces. I recently launched some mixed media work and I am enjoying painting on different fabrics to create texture.
I like to take part in various Contemporary Designer Maker Craft Markets around the country during the year - it gives people the opportunity to see the artwork in the flesh, something I think is very important. I love meeting, and chatting to new people.
You can purchase my work as signed giclée prints, an affordable way to collect artwork. I also have a range of greetings cards available via independent greetings card publishers, Holy Mackerel. Larger framed artwork will be shipped by Royal Special Delivery in the UK (unless otherwise stated in the listing). Mounted artwork will be sent by Royal Mail Signed for (unless otherwise stated) and prints and smaller original pieces will be sent via Royal Mail First Class post.
