My new 16 ounce mug is beautiful and I love the glaze. Also I was able to pick mug up and save on the shipping fee. Kate’s work is beautiful and I have lots of her pieces that I brought over the years.

Handmade, functional pottery from the Hudson Valley
My interest in clay began when I was 15 and the studio assistant for children's ceramic classes. The instructor showed me how to throw on the wheel, and that was that -- it was my new love!
In the last 20 years, I have pursued my love of clay by teaching, throwing, learning from other potters, and making pots. I work full-time as a high school art teacher, and make pots whenever I have a free moment. I live and work in the southern Hudson Valley region of New York state -- close enough to the city for culture, but far enough away for peaceful hikes in the woods.
All of my work is created from mid-fire porcelain or stoneware. All pots are food-safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe. All glazes are lead-free. The work is thrown on the wheel first, then altered or trimmed as needed. The pots I love are simple, straight-forward, and use texture and color to enhance the surface. These are the pots I strive to make, and I hope you enjoy using them as much as I enjoyed making them!

My shop is just me and the clay. The kiln does all the rest.
