Saw these the day I lost an earring. Decided that fate was telling me something! They really do help.

wire *and* curiosity *and* creativity *and*.....
At this point in my life, I consider myself to be an “and” artist. When I was younger I wanted to run track and dance and act in plays. I made jewelry and tie-dyed t-shirts and custom made MC Hammer pants and helped a court reporter and worked in the library.
All of my efforts to try to be just one thing have only driven my desires to express the various facets of myself. Why not be bold one day and delicate the next? Socially outspoken and an introvert? Those “ands” add plot twists and make our lives intriguing.
When my love affair with wire began in the mid-90s, the malleability drew me in. It could be both strong and delicate. Shiny and bold and textural. Industrial and feminine. It soothed my mathematical/engineering mind and ignited my artistic explorations.
This versatility keeps wire as my go-to medium. It has become a part of the way I think. I love pushing myself to capture different feelings and styles with this singular medium, although, of course, I can’t just use wire — I need that freedom to explore, experiment, and incorporate objects and ideas from my adventures.
In my professional life I’m a jeweler, a sculptor, an artist, a designer, a photographer, and a writer.
One of my favorite activities is brainstorming.
I love expressing myself through interior design, crafty projects, creative cooking, and artisan-made fashions.
My adventures take me to roller coasters around the country, artisinal foodie emporiums, farmers’ markets around the world, BurningMan, heavy metal concerts, kayaking in bioluminescent bays, dusty Midwestern barns in search of rusty objects to add to my collection, and wherever my heart desires (although it loves nesting at home best of all).
In 2009, I eschewed urban living and moved to a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills where I could balance my interior studio life with vibrant outdoorsy explorations. I’ve become an active part of the artist community here.
Inspiring creative exploration and creative expression in others is in my life-blood. We all must continue to explore ourselves and work to fight those mainstream categorizations that were programmed into us at an early stage.
We can change our story at any time or incorporate threads from various pieces of our histories. We can be everything we want to be! Keep moving forward with curiosity and acceptance in your heart.
