About

love, laughter, good company. without costing the earth.

I have always loved the "make-do-and-mend" attitude, and never threw anything away as a teenager, in case I might need it for a craft project, school project, or who knows what. Time spent working for a non-profit environmental company reignited that flame. All of my wares are eco-friendly in some way. My cards are made with recycled paper, and repurposed or upcycled fabrics or paper (like the back of an old envelope). And my fabric wares are made with upcycled fabrics. I love turning pre-loved clothes, curtains, and trimmings I find in local charity shops into handmade, and usually one of a kind goods for you and your home.

As much creativity as I have, I was also raised to be very practical. In fact, my etsy adventure all started with a practical problem. It all started with coasters. We hated how our water glasses would stick to the plastic coasters, and our thin cork ones just fell apart. Fabric would work, but I was worried about rings on the furniture from hot drinks. So I made a set of coasters, filled with heat resistant filling in colors to match our office-slash-living room. And we loved them (still do as we still have them 3 years later!)

Living with a "restricted" diet (no gluten, dairy, soy(a), corn/maize, etc), I make almost everything from scratch. I learned to cook by trial and error. Learning about spice and flavor combinations through ingredients lists of pre-package food (that I couldn't eat), recipe books, and tv chefs. Adapting everything into something I could eat as I went. I learned I love cooking, especially baking, and even more so- sharing my food with others. I finally decided to take the plunge and I'm going back to school so I can open my own B&B, cafe, or pop up restaurant. My end goal isn't yet set in stone, but I'm already glad I took the chance.

My sewing story is some what similar. I learn through trial and error, reading books, and asking my mom (who taught me to sew). It's color that grabs me, and I love mixing and matching the fabrics. That moment when you know you're on to something. Gets me every time. Much like creating a fabulous meal.

I love food, good company, sewing, and I believe in being good to the planet (it's the only one we've got!). Katiedidonline is my creative outlet where I can pass on eco-friendly goods to others who love food and entertaining too.

I create eco-friendly textiles for you and your home. Everything in my shop has been handmade by me!

I use upcycled clothes, curtains, and other textiles purchased from local charity shops- helping to support the local community and charities. Upcycing saves energy by reusing material instead of making new fabric from scratch (the growing, washing, and dying of new fabrics is both energy and water intensive).

Refunds and Exchanges
Please be aware that all of my items are made from repurposed cloth and that old seams, slight fading, and other irregularities may be present. I see these as part of the charm of my eco-friendly goods. I do my best to declare any unsightly irregularities in my listings.

If you feel your item was not what was advertised or you are unhappy with the item please let me know via the "contact" button (through etsy) or email within 7 days of receiving the item. I would like you to be as happy with my goods as I was making them- please contact me directly through email or etsy if this is not the case.

Unfortunately shipping costs (in either direction) cannot be refunded.
Additional policies and FAQs
Aprons:
My aprons typically fit size S-M, but I try to make them to fit a range of sizes. Please use the dimensions I give to estimate how it will fit on you. The most helpful measurement will be the waist measurement- which does not include the ties, but helps you to figure out how the apron will sit on you waist or hips.

Get in touch via the "contact" or "request a custom item" if you would like a larger apron or children's apron as I am happy to make custom orders. Sadly, since these are all upcycled aprons (made from old fabrics and repourposed clothes) it is highly unlikely that I can make you another apron in the same fabric, but may be able to find something that will suit you even better!
