KatyDidsFabrics' Shop Announcement

My 100 percent cotton fabric blocks are reproductions from Victorian, Edwardian, and other vintage images. These fabric blocks are not colorfast when shipped, but a simple three-step process will make them colorfast. The process takes about ten minutes and involves ironing, rinsing, and ironing again. Afterwards, the blocks can be hand-washed or gently machine-washed. Detailed instructions will be provided in your package, and can be seen below. Note, these are NOT iron-ons.

For the best results with your fabric blocks, please follow these directions:

First, Set The Ink:
- Remove the paper backing from the fabric (we leave it on to ensure they ship securely.)
- Set your iron to the highest (cotton) setting, NO STEAM.
- Iron image face up for 1 to 2 minutes to set ink.
- CAUTION: do not use excessive pressure to iron image as fabric may distort.

Then, Make the Fabric Block Colorfast:
- Rinse gently in cold water.
- Lay flat to dry.
- Dab excess water with a clean paper towel, DO NOT RUB!
- Iron at highest setting, no steam, to finish drying fabric.
- CAUTION: do not use excessive pressure to iron image as fabric may distort.
- Sew your newly created fabric sheet into your project.

Printed sheets can be washed by hand or machine in cold water if colorfast treatment was done. Do not use detergent or dry clean. If machine washing, use gentle cycle. Remove promptly. If soiled, add a small amount of liquid fabric softener to cold water wash. Lay flat to dry.
