Note from shop owner Hi! Thank you for stopping by my shop! I am currently remodeling my Mosaic Studio. I am sorting through all of my organized broken china inventory and I will be listing LOTS of different broken china tile sets for sale soon. I have so much to sort plus I am making new items as I find broken china designs I forgot I had. Look for some new "Lovelys" I have designed to be listed for sale soon for the upcoming Christmas Holiday Season. I will post my store reopening soon and I will be having a huge sale!

About

"Back In The Saddle Again" Yeehaw!!!!!

Ever since I was a young child I have always been creative. I learned to crochet at age 9 by my great grandmother. I have oil and watercolor painted and made crafts all my life. Mosaic art is by far my most favorite of all crafts/art that I have made. After many requests from friends and family to buy my mosaic artwork a couple of years ago, I created my Etsy store in 2011.

Shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with stage 4A Head and Neck Cancer and went through horrific radiation and chemotherapy that made me sick. I went from 125lbs to 84lbs and was in recovery most of 2012 until I found out New Years Eve that my cancer was back. February 2013 I went through major surgery removing my voice box, 22 lymphnoids, half of my Thyroid and then I was stapled back with hundreds of staples and stitches. Least to say I haven't had a lot of pleasurable time to concentrate on my store in the past 3 years but I am in recovery and tickled to be able to get back to creating mosaic artwork and selling cut up broken china supplies for others to design mosaic art. Therefore that's where I came up with my title! "Back in the Saddle Again!" Being from Texas, I thought I needed to make my story headline a little western :).

I create my art in a small 10x10 patio room at the back of my house. I have managed to fit a lot of things in this small little room. I have several things stacked to the ceiling. Mosaic art takes a lot of organization to be able to find different items that you need. I store my broken cut up china in clear plastic shoe boxes and label the boxes by color, themes, such as fruit, pastel modern floral, bright modern floral, roses, solids, vintage 70's, techno, neutrals, white filler, plate backs, ocean, lighthouses, western, butterflies, tulips, daisies, and the most used plate design...roses!

Rose dish designs are the hardest to come by for a reasonable price. I find most of my supplies and unique focal items like porcelain jewelry box lids at garage sales and thrift stores. I get discouraged going into Antique stores because the price for plates is so high. I admire all the lovely things but I can't afford a plate that is $20 or more. I have A LOT of plates I have bought that haven't been cut yet so if you are looking for a particular color, pattern or theme, let me know as probably have it. I can look through my stock of plates and send you pictures if you are interested.

I treat every customer as I would like to be treated. I usually send extra items with my orders as little surprises and to promote customers to come back to my store and order more. If you like to barter (trade something for something without a money exchange), I am definitely interested. Some things that I am interested in and need are porcelain jewelry box lids. I use the jewelry box lids for center 3D focals for my small crosses that I make. When I shop for these jewelry boxes I don't usually pay more than $1.00 for each. I have been really lucky and found some for .25 each and boy did I think I had hit the jackpot! So, please keep me in mind if you run across these jewelry boxes. I have a picture listed of some jewelry box lids I have in stock to show you what I like.

I have several pieces of furniture waiting to be designed for customers looking for specific color schemes. If you are interested in a night stand or table to be designed, please contact me and I can send pictures of furniture pieces I have available. If you see an item for sale here in my store that you would like in a different color, I definitely can custom order any piece you see here in my store. Feel free to contact me with your ideas.

I have had several people over the years tell me they had their family heritage china they never use and didn't know what to do with it. I have suggested having something mosaic made for each family member. I have created 3 different family heirloom cherished memory cross sets so far. I have other different base pieces available if you would like something different than crosses. If you are interested in having your family heirloom china made into family gifts, please contact me and we can discuss what you would like have made.

I am so excited to be back doing what I love. I relieve stress working on my art because I get lost in my design work. Great therapy to break dishes! Some people have been offended that I have broken expensive dishware but I didn't throw it away, I made something beautiful out of it! If you are a fellow mosaic artist and want to share ideas or have questions that I might have answers for, such as techniques or glue types I use etc, please feel free to email me. I enjoy conversing with fellow mosaic artists!
