About

Kecknits love of fiber

Kecknits is where I share my love of knitting, texture, and mixing color and fibers. I've always shared my creativity with the world through fine art, but as soon as I was introduced to knitting on a machine, I fell in love with it. I purchased my first machine in 2014, and have not looked back. Kecknits was born in 2015 in an effort to support this new obsession with yarn. (You can check out my fine art at http://www.annakeck.com/)

About machine knitting: Knitting on a machine, is just like weaving on a loom...the machine (or loom) will not work without a human. These big fancy "tools" still need a warm body to operate them. My scarves are still considered hand made, even though they are designed and knit on a machine. A knitting machine allows the knitter to create more complicated knit structures that are sometimes not possible by hand. Knitting on a machine and knitting by hand are not to be compared. They are not the same art form.

Care instructions: All scarves should be washed by hand in cold water. Do not wring out excess water, and instead very gently squeeze, press in a dry towel and lay out flat to dry. Do not put in a dryer. Use caution when ironing or steaming.

Regarding photographs for listings: I try to take all photos with daylight lighting for as close to color accuracy as possible, however, due to the variances in monitors, I do not guarantee color accuracy. If you purchase a scarf that is not the color you thought it was, I will issue a full refund, excluding shipping costs both ways, as long as the item is returned in the exact condition it was purchased in. Please contact me if you have any issue at all. I'm a very reasonable person! ;)
