My watercolor palette.

Original paintings and prints inspired by nature.

I've been drawing, painting, or creating in some form or another for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the way I graduated from crayons to pastels, cheap watercolor sets to professional grade paints, and when it came time for college I knew there was no other field for me: I wanted to be an artist.

I finished my bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama in December of 2008. After a year of working in Florence, AL I relocated to Johnson City, TN for almost two years. Living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of east Tennessee filled my life with inspiration, and even though I am back in north Alabama now the energy from the mountains continues to fuel my current body of work, which you can read more about below:

I have always been very inspired by nature, especially trees, but moving up to the live in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Tennessee ignited a new flame inside of me. I became slightly obsessed with the landscape, and remain awed by the mountains to this day. My body of work puts a spin on traditional landscape style by adding a unique pattern that developed out of sketchbooks of mine from years ago. I really enjoy repetitive patterns and detail work when it comes to painting, so creating each piece is like a form of meditation for me.

My favorite materials are watercolor, acrylic, India ink, and, occasionally, graphite. I make high quality, archival, Giclee prints of my work in my home studio so that everyone can afford a high quality piece of art that will last them a lifetime. I am often complimented on how my prints look just like originals, and I love knowing that something I created will hang in someone's home or office for them to enjoy.
