Welcome to my Etsy store. You will find an assortment of items all made of wood. I have several categories and will usually have items listed in each. Most of my bowls and vessels can be categorized as functional and non-functional.

Functional bowls are made to be used and can be hand washed in the sink with warm soapy water then immediately hand dried. Never place a wood bowl in the dishwasher. There are two basic types of finish that I use on functional bowls, walnut oil and a tung oil blend. Walnut oil is the preference of chefs because it does not create a topcoat on the wood. As you use the bowl the foods natural oils continually condition the bowl. If you do not use a bowl with a walnut oil finish often you may need to condition it by applying a coat of walnut or mineral oil. The tung oil blend that I use creates a top coat and will not need to be conditioned for many years. If you want a bowl to place on a desk or counter for candy this is the better finish. Please send me a message if you need help deciding what finish works best for your bowl needs.

Non functional bowls are turned a much greater precision than functional and are often to delicate for daily use. They are best admired, which is easy to do for many hours since the woods I use for these pieces are often highly figured. Frequently my non-functional pieces have a wall thickness of 1/8", some woods I turn to 3/32" to reduce the weight.

My furniture has a twist on what you may be used to. I consider myself a woodturner so I almost always incorporate lathe turned components as the highlight of my furniture. This helps create a wonderful movement to my pieces.
