The cutest pillow to put into our 1961 red Shasta camper! The package was shipped very quickly and included a sweet thank you note. I'll be checking back for future purchases!!

Bringing new life and a new story to vintage fabrics

Have you ever seen rice grow? Well, me neither! It is those little miracles of nature that always enchant me. I love to travel, capturing a photo wherever I go while at places that bring me incredible joy -- the ocean, the mountains, beautiful open meadows that lead down to the still of a mountain lake or in the presence of a simple flower drooping from a child's fingers. Combining my love to create something through sewing, painting or working with clay, I give my whimsy creativity an outlet.

In addition to loving nature, I'm also a huge history and architecture buff, so understanding how they made a vintage textile without the help of modern machinery, manufactured dyes, and synthetic fibers has always intrigued me. Someday, I imagine I will visit an old French Villa with curtains made in the 1500s and it will make me more than just a little giddy. I truly love the story of fabric. It is here, with KellinaDesigns, that I can bring a little textile history to your home, too.

My studio is stocked largely with vintage chenille bedspreads from the 1940s, - 1960s, originally made in the southern United States. I also stock European fabrics (mainly France and England), many of which were loom woven, block-printed or roll-printed, anywhere from the 1870s to the 1940s. Did you know that la chenille means "caterpillar" in French?

I love cute. whimsy. textures. ice cream. dogs. cats. college football. homemade mac 'n cheese. Tyler Florence's Organic Fried Chicken. art. of all kinds. art. friends. family. helping others. and art. and family. and family.

I am the sole "maker" of all items in the KellinaDesigns shop. I source my fabrics from reputable sellers; design, construct, market and ship each and every item I sell with a high sense of integrity and quality. I hope you enjoy browsing. Perhaps you will bring a little textile history into your life.

Hello, I'm Kelly and this is my shop! My goal is to repurpose vintage fabrics into something new and beautiful; hanging onto the "old" story of that fabric in a sweet and special way.

I do business in the state of California, therefore, I must charge sales tax to customers from California. :( With Etsy, your purchase is not entirely yours until you make payment, however, if you wish to hold something, I will hold for up to 3 days. In the event you change your mind about the purchase, please let me know within those 3 days and I will gladly cancel the order.
I ship USPS. Since Etsy does not have a shipping calculator, I quote priority mail to the farthest location from my home. I will, however, ship first class (under 13 ounces) and parcel post, if you prefer. For domestic shipments, I charge only actual shipping and immediately refund any overage paid to your paypal account that exceeds $.75. For international shipments, I charge the actual shipping cost plus a very nominal $1.50 fee to drive to the post office. If you desire a shipping quote, please don't hesitate to ask.
Refunds and Exchanges
I describe my items thoroughly and provide photos to give as good a description as possible. Since my items are newly made, and not as much subject to an inaccurate description, I will gladly accept returns within 10 days of purchase, but only the purchase price will be refunded. Shipping both ways must be absorbed by the buyer, unless of course, there is a construction defect. I do my absolute best to fully describe and disclose anything a buyer would want to know about my item, however, it's always possible I miss something. In the event there is a certain discrepancy in my description, shipping costs may be refunded, subject to review of the situation.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am always willing to consider custom orders. If you can't find something in my shop, please inquire, I might be able to make another ETSY seller recommendation for you!
