Shop Story

Painting teaches me a great deal about observation. When I'm working on a piece, I connect with my subject and notice details about it that I missed before. This helps me to better understand my subjects and further harmonize with the world I live in. I can take from the world around me and make it my own, then turn those things into something that others can look at differently through my work.

I experiment with a broad scale of different styles that I discover within myself. At times my work may not be as easily identified as my own from one series to the next. While I'm learning about my subjects through my creative process, I'm also teaching myself about who I am and how I interpret life itself. I'm forced to ask myself why I'm drawn to certain subjects, especially those that I find come up in my work again and again. Maybe there's a hidden symbolism I'm unaware of that requires further investigation.

I often incorporate found objects in my work. This could mean anything from including what would appear to be ordinary garbage into a piece of art, or painting on a piece of wood or cardboard in place of a canvas. One of the most important qualities I find in my definition of "art" is to make something that wasn't beautiful into something beautiful, or maybe finding the beauty in something and making it more apparent for others to see.

One constant is my palette. It features vivid stimulating colors that pull my subjects into being in a playful manner. I want to create something that is very eye-opening and uplifting to my audience. I find that bright colors can excite the heart and mind and give people a sense of happiness that wouldn't be felt in the absence of those colors.

It is my response-ability to react to my surroundings by dismembering the natural world and then project the abstractions from within. My creations are my actuality's alternative brought to life. Things seep into my brain and out of my imagination.

Shop policies

Last updated on January 29, 2013
Creating artwork is a joy and pleasure to me that I would like to spread for all to have a part in! I take pride in my work and only desire that my customers are all happy and consider me to handle my business and my craft well.

I would never want to send anyone something that I wouldn't personally be happy with. I don't send broken, bent, torn, or messy products. If a product or piece of art is sent to you in poor condition, then this is something that has occurred through the mailing process. See my return policy for more information about this matter.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
I prefer to make all payments through etsy. No direct bank account payments. You could send cash or checks if you really want to... but I need to have it sent to me first before I can mail out your item :)
I send out my products via 1st class mail within 1-2 or 3 days of receiving the notice for the order. Packages will typically come decorated by me and will contain a few free gifts. These free gifts are usually hand-painted bookmarks, "Thanks a million" million-dollar-bills and SOMETIMES even prints or extra goodies I may have available at the time!
Refunds and Exchanges
It is difficult to offer refunds to dissatisfied customers due to the return of an item and mailing issues, but if at all possible I can send you another item to replace a damaged item- this would apply to prints or products that arrived bent, ripped, broken, stained, etc. In the case of a painting, I would not be able to reproduce an identical painting but if you send me a photo of the damage done to the painting then a refund can be made for you.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you are interested in placing a custom order, you can send me an etsy message or an email and we can talk about it! I can make a custom print of an original painting you like that I may not already have a print made available of, and I can also create original paintings. Prices for prints will match the coordinating sizes you see here for other like-sized prints. Custom paintings will vary.
