Announcement   CoopHerbalSalveNSoap was born as a natural evolution of a very down to Earth relationship between two Grandmothers, Debbie and Lawana, who both desire to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and to bring blessings to our families and the struggling rural community in which we live. The name is a play on words inspired by the renovation of a physical chicken coop to be used as a co-op for our products and as a gathering and market place for our friends and neighbors. Our little mountain community in Western Montana is in transition from being mostly timber supported to a post timber economy. As a result, for the last 20 years our community's greatest resource, our children, is being lost to other areas that have the employment opportunities to support them. As grandmothers, we want to make it possible for our young families to stay in the natural paradise they were born in. Welcome to our world, our coop and our co-op! Know that the purchases you make have the potential to bless families who are hard working and eager to bloom where they are planted.

About

Necessity is the Mother of our Co-op.

CoopHerbalSalveNSoap is the love child of two hard working Grandmothers, Grannie and Nannie. Though we are very different and were born into very different worlds, we have made choices about our beliefs, our lifestyles, our priorities of living for God first, honoring our husbands second and thirdly, weaving a tapestry of love around our children and grandchildren. Much of this growth happened before Nannie and Grannie even met: however the Lord Jesus Christ saw to it that in 2007, both of us arrived at essentially the same moment at the same time. A friendship was forged, one grated cabbage, batch of cheese or foraging trip at a time. We actually met over two goats, Butterfly and Bumble Bee.

We have weathered many storms separately and together. There have been the usual joys and heartaches of marriage, parenting and grand parenting, as well as the unique situations that arose from both of us choosing to love children of our hearts that were not from our tummies. Through all of this we have needed to provide wholesome and affordable food, health care and nurture to our large families while choosing to be at home with them as much as possible. The result is a cache of natural ideas and products that have served our families' needs well.

We want to share our overflowing baskets with you. Our products are life tested. They are made from the purest and most local ingredients we can find. They have kept four generations of our families (including our greatest mentors, our mothers), scrubbed, pampered, soothed and balmed.

Our Etsy store reflects the goal of our brick and mortar store, The Coop, which is a repurposed 100 year old chicken coop. When it is completed, it will be a haven for like minded peoples to gather, exchange ideas, sell homemade products, share a cup of coffee or tea and be enveloped in the love that we have been blessed to share with our families and friends.

Hello! I'm Debbie Kelsey (Nannie), I am a lifelong learner, artist & artisan. I am a wild crafter in natural mediums, but I love making SOAP! My inspirations are my Lord, Jesus and my amazing family. My work & hobbies are the same. I am never bored.

Hi. I'm Lawana, Grannie to my grandchildren. I am a Christian herbalist. I love old things, old ways, children, dogs and wide open spaces. I love making herbal salves and tinctures and teaching others how to tap resources growing in their own yard.

Welcome to our store! We are two grandmother/friends, Nannie and Grannie. Nannie lives on the South side of the river and Grannie lives on the North side of the river in our small Montana community. Between us, we make lots of great products and items from the things the Lord provides for us. We both have heads full of new ideas and hearts filled with the desire to serve our Lord and our families and our communities. Stick around, our product list will evolve and change. We will keep our old faithfuls like goat's milk soaps and Meadow Magic salve as they have been tried, true and loved for years but, as the Lord leads us we will list our newest products for you to enjoy.
