About

"How did you think of that!?

That is a question Lisa hears often. Working in a, sometimes very messy, disorganized sewing/craft room she manages to create the many ideas that float into her head. From purses that look like tacos, zipper pull rings, bracelets and rings made from old, vinyl records. Most ideas come while driving in the car or in dreams.

Lisa wanted to major in art her whole life, but when her parents felt that it wasn't the best idea, she applied to nursing school just as a kind of a joke. To her surprise she got in. Still working full time as an RN in a pediatric hospital and is back in college. Art and sewing are still her first loves. She spends every spare minute on the many projects she has going. She started sewing at the age of 14 and knows how to do some classic techniques like smocking and heirloom sewing. But she also knows bead work, soldered jewelry, some knitting, crochet, silk ribbon embroidery, quilting and most recently, painting reborn dolls. So it is obvious there is many a project in some stage of completion laying around. That doesn't include the pages of ideas in her sketchbook yet to be realized.

She discovered etsy and with the encouragement of her husband Joe, decided to give it a try. Off to a slow start but starting to get some steam. She is learning from her mistakes and picking up tips here and there. She is surprised at the popularity of her food related accessory.

Lisa, unfortunately, suffers from interstitial cystitis of the bladder. It is a chronic and extremely painful disease with no known cure. Her creativity is what keeps her going during those hard times. She has 2 wonderful adult children. Eric, a talented musician and Alana, who is a fashon model in Japan.

Someday she would like to do this full time. In the meantime, even with the full time job and the chronic pain, you can still find Lisa in her studio. Her lovebird, Jingle as a funny little companion and the sound of heavy metal coming from her music producer husbands recording studio at the other side of the house. She looks in the fabric stash for the perfect taco meat fabric and the chocolate bar that got lost in the mess. She misses her late father, Kermit, whose crazy tie collection started her in the purse business and her mom, Dorie, who loved every crazy creation.
