Announcement   Fill your world with the quality and beauty of vintage linens and household treasures--affordable extravagance!

I specialize in beautiful linens for your table and kitchen. It's my goal that no one ever uses uninspired paper napkins or tablecloths in their homes--it's not only wasteful but so boring! When I come across other high-quality vintage treasures, I add them here, too, but the focus will always be on textiles!

Take your time and browse, and let me know if you have questions! If you love handwoven items, visit the shop WovenTogetherCrafts, where my husband and I feature our weaving. You may also enjoy my blog, Love Those "Hands at Home," at http://lovethosehandsathome.wordpress.com/

About

Sharing What I Love With You!

My shop reflects my lifelong love of vintage treasures, especially linens. I'd like to give you an idea of how and why I offer my items to you!

I grew up on a farm and learned to embroider really early. I went to grad school in central Pennsylvania (Go State!) and was introduced to Amish auctions and flea markets, with tons of wonderful vintage items. The linen items really spoke to me, maybe because I knew how much time and love went into making them. And they were being sold for so little. I couldn't let them sit there, unloved.

So, for 35 years, I've been bringing linens home, cleaning them up and using them. When I retired from my work as a college professor and administrator and my husband and I prepared to move the contents of two houses into one, I came face-to-face with this vast linen collection!

Since I found Etsy, I've thought of my vintage role as a kind of Humane Society for vintage linens. I've been finding great homes for previously unwanted, under-appreciated treasures. It's heartening to see how many of you still recognize and value the quality and class of these items--it's just a matter of getting them into the right hands!

So, I spend my days immersed in activities that I enjoy--hunting treasures at garage sales, bringing sad and wrinkled linens back to their glory, experimenting in the kitchen. My senses are engaged--the feel of crisp linen, the heat of the iron, the beauty of hand embroidery. And I get to share it all with you! Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and my shop!

I've never met a craft or vintage item I didn't like! I've been dabbling all my life, working around my "day job" of college prof. I retired and now I haunt estate sales, I weave and make quilts, and I work in the jewelry studio. Kerry Can!

Additional policies and FAQs
Regarding Vintage Items: I launder and press my vintage fabrics, if needed and appropriate to the fabric. If I have reason not to launder, it will be clearly stated in the listing. I will point out any flaws that I find, in the item descriptions. Please keep in mind, though, that these items are vintage and we love them, in part, because they show their age and have that patina. I feel that beauty is enhanced by the fact that they have been used and loved and they don't look brand new.

I welcome your questions and comments!
