Announcement   Hi and welcome to my shop, "Gypsy Lilac & Co", formerly known as Kewish Designs. My husband and I both decided that we needed a "fresher" shop name and pondered many many ideas. We both have a gypsy spirit and I LOVE lilacs! I even grew up on a Lilac Street! We love the feel of "Gypsy Lilac & Co"... a little wild, always adventurous!

We start with our own designs and use traditional bench jewelers tools and techniques to bring silver, copper, gold and stone to life. We both do the metalwork but each of us have our own style. After many many years, it looks like our individual styles are starting to merge together!

Enjoy shopping here! Thank you!

About

Life...a little wild, always adventurous!

It all began when my husband, Josh, noticed the pictures that I took with a disposable camera. He saw that I had an eye for composition and encouraged me to take art classes. Art classes meant "drawing" to me and I protested, "But I can't draw..." Josh's response, "That is why you take a class...to learn."

I began taking art classes and this fired up Josh's creative mind. He HAD been a full-time art student, but had dropped school in order to work. He decided to take a drawing class with me.

One night, we had a substitute teacher. Aleris Hart. She stopped the class to show the students some of HER work. She is a master silversmith. The pictures of Aleris's work brought me to tears. It was so beautiful. Silver and gold and gemstones and beauty and deliciousness. Oh my!

And then Aleris said, "I will be teaching a metal fabrication class next semester."
Josh and I looked at each other and said, "We're in."

Copper and silver. Handmade and unique. We use traditional metal smithing tools to create one of a kind jewelry. We both design and make every piece. We are both inspired by just about everything and are always doodling design ideas. Fusing silver on silver, hand painting copper, enameling - anything is possible in the Gypsy Lilac and Company studio!

He has his style and I have mine...we have figured out how to make it all work together!
